How do I create a group or bookclub?
Creating a group or a bookclub is easy: sign into your profile and select the 'create a group' link, and fill in the information required. Then, invite friends to join your group using the features provided. Groups are a great way to network within the community and interact with other booklovers to discuss and debate your favourite literary topics. Additionally, you can choose to manage all invite requests, or set up your group to allow anyone to join automatically.

How do I invite friends and other members to join a group?
When you create a group, you are the administrator and you can choose to invite all of your friends to join, or send invitations to a selection of your friends. Community members may request to join your group. If you this occurs, you will be notified of new member requests on your profile page and on the page of your group. Further, members of your group may invite their friends to join your group, and you will receive notifications alerting you to approve or disapprove these requests if you prefer to manage requests. Additionally, you can choose to manage all invite requests, or set up your group to allow anyone to join automatically.

How do I join a group?
You can request to join a group by clicking the 'Join this Group' link found on that group's main page. Alternatively, you can join a group by accepting an invitation sent by a group administrator. Sometimes group requests are accepted automatically; other times, there may be a delay if the group administrator chooses to manually manage each request.

How do I leave a group?
To leave a group, sign into your profile and select the "edit" link in the Groups section. Then, click the 'Leave this Group' link next to the group you want to leave.


Can I change my group's Privacy & Email Alert Settings?
If you are the creator of the group, and therefore the administrator, you can change the Privacy & Email Alert Settings at any time. Sign into your profile and go to the main page of the group you wish to change the Privacy & Email Alert Settings for. Select the "edit" link and change the Privacy & Email Alert Settings as you wish.

How do I edit the details of my group?
Once you've created a group you can edit the details or invite new members at any time. Sign into your profile and go to the main page of the group you wish to change. Select the "edit" link and change the details or invite new members using the features provided.

How do I find a group?
You can find groups by browsing other members' profiles, and by checking out the groups your friends and favourites are members of. Alternatively, you can browse through community groups by their name or title. Alternatively, you can search through the bookclub directory

Can I edit or remove content I've created for a group I've joined?
Yes, you can edit or remove content from your group, provided you created it. Simply select the "edit" link next to the content you’d like to edit. This will open an editable version of the post you would like to change. Once your edits are complete, select “submit”. The date will reflect the latest submission date and the post would move to the top of the group. To delete content, simply select "delete" and confirm your choice when prompted.

How can I have my group listed in the bookclub directory?
If you would like to have your group listed in the bookclub directory, send an email to Merlin, our friendly community administrator: merlin@indigo.ca.

How do I view older posts?
Within the Archive you will find all posts created for the group listed by month and title.

How do I view the results of a poll?
Select 'see results' to view the results of a poll.
