What is the Message Centre?
The Message Centre is your source for recent activity such as: friend requests, group requests, group invitations, new group posts and comments, and recommendations. It is a prominent area on your profile that combines Messages, Community News and a new Browse section allowing you to easily explore Community content.

What is a notification?
A notification is an alert that appears in your message centre, but requires no action. It informs you that you’ve received a recommendation from a friend, or a comment has been added to content you’ve created or a group post.

The options for notification options are:
• When you are invited to join a group or receive a request to be friends.
• When you receive a recommendation from a friend.
• When a fellow group member adds a post to a group.
• When someone comments on content you’ve created.

What are actions?
Actions are friend or group requests and invites. They are meant to inform you that someone in the community is waiting for you to take action on their request to become friends or to accept or deny their invitation for you to join a group.

How do I manage notifications?
When you log into your profile, select ‘visit your message centre’. Click on the message to view the details. Once you’ve had a chance to review all of your messages you can select ‘dismiss’ to remove the notification from your Message Centre.

Can I send messages?
Currently, you are not able to send messages to your friends through the message centre.

Why are there different colours highlighting certain messages?
All messages are colour coded to assist you with quickly viewing the messages you want to address. Group actions are highlighted in pink, friend actions are highlighted in blue and notifications (which do not require any action) are highlighted in grey.

Can I remove messages?
Yes, you can select ‘dismiss’ to remove notifications and other items from your Message Centre.

What is in the Browse tab?
The browse area within the Message Centre is an easy way to find important information, such as links to Community Help, FAQs our Code of Conduct and more. Plus, you’ll also find quick links to lists, reviews, posts, and other community members.

Can I see my friends’ message centre?
No, everyone has their own private Message Centre that only they can see.

How do I view all of my friends’ actions?
When you first log into your profile you will see an area called Message Centre listing all of your new messages.

How do I view all only certain actions?
Select the link ‘visit your message centre’ on your profile, within your Message Centre. Toggles are provided for you to hide other messages (white), hide friend messages (blue), or hide group messages (pink). As an example, If you select the white and blue toggles only your group actions will be displayed.

Can I hide messages I don’t want to see?
When you first log into your profile you will see an area called Message Centre listing all of your new messages. Select ‘visit your message centre’. Toggles are provided for you to: hide other messages (white), hide friend messages (blue), or hide group messages (pink).
