CONTEST PERIOD
1. The Breaking Dawn with Stephenie Meyer Contest (the "Contest") begins at 3:00:01
p.m. Eastern Standard Time ("EST") on June 12th, 2008 (the "Contest
Start Date")
and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. EST on July 15th, 2008 (the "Contest Close
Date"),
(the period staring on the Contest Start Date and ending on the Contest Close
Date being hereinafter referred to as the "Contest Period"). By participating
in the Contest, each entrant agrees to abide by and be bound by these Official
Rules. Entrants further agree to abide by and be bound by all decisions of Indigo
Books & Music Inc. (the "Sponsor"), which shall be final and binding, without
right of appeal, in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes and the awarding
of the prizes, including without limitation eligibility and/or disqualification
of entries.
ELIGIBILITY
2. To be eligible, you must be a verifiable legal resident of Canada, excluding
Quebec, who has reached the age of majority in your province or territory of
residence (the "Entrant") at the start of the Contest Period. Officers, directors
and employees of the Sponsor, HB Fenn and Company (the "Administrator") and
their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees,
distributors, retailers, sales representatives, advertising and promotion agencies
(collectively, the "Promotion Entities") and immediate family members and/or
those living in the same household of such officers, directors or employees
are ineligible to enter the Contest or win a prize.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
3. There are two (2) ways to automatically receive one (1) entry into the
Contest. Simply pre order Stephenie Meyers' latest book Breaking Dawn
using one of the following methods: 1) go online to chapters.indigo.ca; or
2) visit an in-store computer kiosk at any participating INDIGO, INDIGOSPIRIT,
CHAPTERS, COLES, SMITHBOOKS, THE WORLD'S BIGGEST BOOKSTORE and THE BOOK
COMPANY location in Canada, excluding Quebec; in each case following all online
instructions to complete online pre order. All entries must be completed and
received during the Contest Period. Copies of web pages are not considered
proof of delivery or receipt by Sponsor of any entry. The applicable database
clock will be used by the Contest judges in determining the time of entry for
all entries in this contest.
4. No Purchase Necessary. To enter the contest without making a purchase, on
a 8.5 x 11 inch piece of paper, hand-print your name, complete address, age,
daytime telephone number including area code, and in 50 words or less, tell us, "Why
you think you should win this contest?" Send entry to: "The Breaking Dawn Stephenie
Meyer Contest c/o Indigo Books & Music Inc., 468 King Street West, Toronto,
Ontario, M5V 1L8; Attention: Marketing Manager, Retail. All entries must be postmarked
no later than Wednesday, July 9th, 2008 and received by the Contest Close Date.
ENTRY LIMITATION AND VERIFICATION
5. Limit one (1) entry per person, per pre-order and/or per household, regardless
of method of entry. If it is discovered that an Entrant attempted to enter more
than once, all entries of such Entrant will be void.
6. Entries are subject to verification and may be disqualified if they are late,
misdirected, incomplete, illegible, irregular, submitted through illicit means,
not original to the Entrant, or if they contain any false statements or do not
conform to or satisfy any condition of the these Official Rules. NOTE: Entry
must be made by the Entrant only using the methods of entry set out herein. Entries
made by any other individual or any entity, will be declared invalid and disqualified
for this Contest. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify
any individual who is found to be tampering with the entry process or the operation
of the Contest or with any website connected with the Contest.
PRIZE DESCRIPTION
7. There is one (1) prize (a "Grand Prize") available to be won in the Contest,
subject to the limitations and restrictions below, as follows::

Grand Prize: Grand Prize consists
of one (1) trip for two (2) on or about August 1st, 2008 to New York City
to join Stephenie Meyer at a secret location, hear her read from and talk
about her new book "Breaking Dawn" and receive a copy of the book signed
by the author.
Grand Prize Includes:
• Return economy airfare for one (1) adult and one (1) guest from the major
Canadian gateway (Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Saskatoon)
closest to the Winner's home to New York or Newark at determined by Administrator
in its sole discretion. If guest is a minor, Grand Prize winner must be such
guest's parent or legal guardian. Winner and guest are responsible for their
own travel arrangements and costs between their respective homes and the major
Canadian gateway departure point.

and one (1) guest, based on double occupancy, at a 3 STAR HOTEL in New York to
be decided by Administrator.
• Three (3) meals per night's accommodation Up to a total of $100.00 CAD
per person. All hotel taxes and handling fees will be covered.

• One (1) copy of Stephenie Meyer's new book "Breaking Dawn" for Grand

• Transportation between winner's and/or any guest's home and major Canadian
gateway departure point and transportation from New York or Newark airport to
hotel and transportation to and from hotel and Stephenie Meyer event.
• Accommodation, if required at home departure and arrival
• Accommodation or transportation changes or upgrades once booked
• Taxes, gratuities and surcharges which are not part of the prize booking
• All other items not specifically listed as part of the prize
Grand Prize Conditions and Restrictions:
• On July 31st and August 1st, 2008, Winner and Guest must be available
to participate in a local media tour scheduled in their home location before
flying to New York City or Newark.
• On August 2nd, 2008, Winner and Guest will be flown back to their Canadian
gateway departure point from New York City or Newark.
• Winner and guest must travel together on the same itinerary and possess
all required travel documents, including visas and valid passports, if and as
applicable, and must be able to provide Sponsor proof of possession of a valid
passport within twenty-four (24) hours of being declared a winner. If Grand Prize
winner does not have or is unable to secure a valid passport and/or any required
travel visas prior to travel, the prize will be forfeited in its entirety. If
guest does not have applicable documentation, guest may not accompany Winner.
• Air transportation tickets are non-refundable/non-transferable and are
not valid for upgrades and/or frequent flyer miles. All air transportation tickets
are subject to the vagaries of flight variation, work stoppages and schedule
or route changes.
• Sponsor reserves the right to structure the travel route and select hotels
in its sole discretion.
• Approximate retail value ("ARV") of prize may vary depending upon point
of departure and fare fluctuations.
• Grand Prize winner will not receive cash or any other form of compensation
if actual travel costs are less than the Grand Prize ARV in these Official Rules.
All details and other restrictions applicable to the Grand Prize and not specified
in these Official Rules will be determined by Sponsor and Administrator in their

8. The winner shall be solely responsible for all federal, provincial, state
and/or local taxes, and the reporting consequences thereof, and for any other
fees or costs associated with the Grand Prize. The Grand Prize must be accepted
as awarded, is non-refundable, non-transferable, cannot be replaced if lost
or stolen, and is not convertible to cash. Sponsor and/or the Administrator
reserve the right in their sole discretion to substitute the Grand Prize, or
any part thereof, for a prize of equal or greater value (based on the approximate
retail value of the Grand Prize as stated in these Official Rules), including
without limitation a cash award, if the Grand Prize cannot be awarded as described
for any reason. In the event the winner and/or his/her guest engage in behavior
that (as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion) is obnoxious or
threatening, illegal or intended to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other
person, the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate
the Grand Prize trip, in whole or in part, and send the winner and/or guest
home with no further compensation.
RANDOM DRAW
9. On
Thursday, July 17th, 2008 at approximately 12:59:59 a.m. EST in Toronto,
Ontario, a random draw will be conducted by the contest judges, who may be third
parties or employees of the Sponsors, to select the potential Grand Prize winner
("
Selected Entrant") from all eligible entries. Odds of winning depend on the
number of eligible entries received.
10. The Selected Entrant will be contacted using the phone number and/or email
address provided at entry within one (1) business day of the random draw date
and will be advised (by voice-mail or e-mail message if necessary) of the eligibility
and other requirements in order to be confirmed a winner. Selected Entrant will
have two (2) business days to respond to such phone or email contact, providing
a day-time phone number where the Selected Entrant can be contacted in order
for Selected Entrant to correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, whether
mechanical or otherwise, a time-limited, mathematical, skill-testing question,
to be administered by telephone at a pre-arranged, mutually convenient time.
Subsequently, in order to be confirmed a winner ("
Winner"), the Selected Entrant
must satisfy the requirements of Rule 11 below.
WINNER VERIFICATION & PUBLICITY/LIABILITY
RELEASE
11. To be confirmed a Winner, a Selected Entrant who has satisfied the eligibility
requirements and other requirements under Rule 10 above will be required to sign
a Declaration of Eligibility, Liability Release and a Publicity Release ("
Declaration
and Release Document") on his/her behalf and on behalf of his/her guest. The
Declaration and Release Document must be received by the Sponsor by email, fax
or regular mail within four (4) business days of prize notification which shall
under no circumstances be later than Thursday, July 24th, 2008 (or such shorter
time if exigencies so require). If the Selected Entrant cannot be contacted at
any time, or is contacted but, due to the Selected Entrant's inability to satisfy
the eligibility requirements set out in these Official Rules, cannot be confirmed
a Winner, the Selected Entrant will be disqualified and the prize will be forfeited
by that Selected Entrant and may be awarded to an alternate Selected Entrant
who has been selected and qualified in accordance with these Official Rules.
If the Sponsor so elects, the Grand Prize Winner may be required to submit to
a confidential background check to confirm eligibility and help ensure that the
use of such person in advertising or publicity for the Contest will not bring
Promotion Entities into public disrepute, contempt, scandal or ridicule or reflect
unfavorably on the Promotion Entities as determined by the Sponsor in its sole
discretion.
12. By participating in the contest, in addition to any other rights which may
be granted in any other agreement entered into between Sponsor and the Winner
of the contest, Winner irrevocably grants the Promotion Entities and their respective
successors, assigns and licensees, the right to use the Winner's name, likeness,
and biographical information, comments, city and province/territory of residence,
and photographs in any and all media for any purpose, including without limitation,
advertising and promotional purposes as well as on the Website of the contest
or other promotions, and hereby releases the Promotion Entities from any liability
with respect thereto.
CONDUCT
13. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any
Entrant or purported Entrant it finds to be: (a) violating these Official Rules;
(b) tampering or attempting to tamper with the entry process or the operation
of the Contest or any website connected to the Contest; (c) acting in an unsportsman-like
or disruptive manner, or with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass
any other person. Any attempt by an Entrant, purported Entrant or any other individual
to deliberately damage any website associated with this Contest or to undermine
the legitimate operation of this Contest may be a violation of criminal and/or
civil laws. Should any such attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to
seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
14. The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, stolen, late, misdirected, incomplete,
illegible, damaged, garbled or irregular entries, or for any entries not received
or not processed for any reason, including any technical or human error.
15. The Sponsor is not responsible for any errors, omissions, incorrect or inaccurate
information in these Official Rules, other Contest-related information, including
printing or advertising, and other equipment or programming associated with or
used in the Contest.
16. Without limiting the provisions of Rule 22 below, Sponsor is not responsible
for any: failure of the Internet; problems or technical malfunction of any telephone
network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer
equipment or software; failure of any email to be transmitted or received; technical
problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or in-store
computer kiosk or combination thereof, including injury or damage to an Entrant's
or purported Entrant's computer or to any other individual's computer related
to or resulting from participating in, or downloading any material, regarding
the Contest.
PROTECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
17. By entering the Contest, Entrants consent to the collection and use of their
personal information for the purpose of administering the Contest by the Sponsor
and Administrator in accordance with their respective privacy policies, which
can be found at
www.chapters.indigo.ca and at
http://hbfenn.com/PrivacyPolicy.aspx,
respectively.
18. By entering, Entrants acknowledge that the Sponsor and/or Administrator may
communicate with Entrant via email with respect to communicating the results
of the Contest.
MISCELLANEOUS
19. This Contest is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all applicable
federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. The Contest is governed
by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable
therein.
20. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify or terminate
the Contest or the Official Rules at any time, without notice, and for any reason.
If the Contest is terminated, in whole or in part, before the designated date,
Sponsor reserves the right to select a winner in a random drawing from all eligible,
non-suspect entries received as of the date of the event giving rise to the termination.
Inclusion in such drawing shall be each Entrant's sole and exclusive remedy under
such circumstances.
21. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned and
no correspondence will be made with or entered into except with the Selected
Entrant and confirmed Winner.
22. By participating in the Contest, each Entrant agrees that the Promotion Entities
(i) shall not be responsible or liable for any losses, damages or injuries of
any kind (including grave bodily injury or death) resulting from participation
in the Contest or in any Contest related activity, or from Entrant's acceptance,
receipt, and participation (including travel) and/or use or misuse of or in the
Grand Prize, and (ii) have not made any warranty, representation or guarantee
express or implied, in fact or in law, with respect to the Grand Prize and specifically
disclaim all such warranties, including without limitation, the implied warranties
of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. By accepting the Grand
Prize, winner agrees to the use of his/her name, photograph, likeness, and/or
city/state of residence by Sponsor, or any party authorized by Sponsor, for advertising
and promotional purposes worldwide and in any and all media without additional
notice or compensation, where imposing such condition is legal. The Grand Prize
will only be awarded to the verified Winner. The Promotion Entities assume no
responsibility for any damage to an Entrant's or any other person's computer
system which is occasioned by accessing the Website or otherwise participating
in the Contest, or for any computer system, phone line, hardware, software or
program malfunctions or other errors, failures, delayed computer transmissions
or network connections that are human or technical in nature. Without limiting
the generality of the foregoing, the Promotion Entities are not responsible for
lost, interrupted, inaccessible or unavailable networks, servers, satellites,
Internet Service Providers, web sites, or other connections; or for miscommunications,
failed, jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected computer, telephone or cable
transmissions; or for any technical malfunctions, failures, or difficulties,
printing errors, clerical, typographical or other error in the offering or announcement
of the Grand Prize or in any Grand Prize notification documents, or other errors
of any kind or nature; or for the incorrect or inaccurate capture of information,
or the failure to capture any information. Without limiting the provisions of
Rule 20 above, if, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned,
including, due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized
intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control
of Sponsor which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity
or proper conduct of this Contest, Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion
to cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or extend the Contest. In the event Sponsor
is prevented from awarding the Grand Prize or continuing with the Contest as
contemplated herein by any event beyond its control, including but not limited
to fire, flood, natural or man-made epidemic of health of other means, earthquake,
explosion, labor dispute or strike, act of God or public enemy, satellite or
equipment failure, riot or civil disturbance, terrorist threat or activity, war
(declared or undeclared) or any federal state or local government law, order,
or regulation, public health crisis (e.g. SARS), order of any court or jurisdiction,
or other cause not reasonably within Sponsor's control, then subject to any governmental
approval which may be required, Sponsor shall have the right to modify, suspend,
or terminate the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right to terminate on-line entry
if technical difficulties compromise the integrity or ability to continue on-line
entry. If any provision of these Official Rules is determined to be invalid or
unenforceable, these Official Rules shall otherwise remain in effect and shall
be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or unenforceable
provision were not contained herein.
