March 1944:War's darkest period descends upon Hungary's Jews. By the time it ends in January '45, over half a million Jews will have been murdered. Gratitude tells the story of that period, through a group of people whom terrible circumstance has thrown together, and of lives and loves saved and lost. At the centre of it all is Paul Beck, a young lawyer whose chance meeting with a visiting Swede, Raoul Wallenberg, may alter the inevitability of the Jews' fate. Gratitude explores brilliantly and with deep humanity the complexities of the human psyche in its darkest hour, and offers a rich and unforgettable portrait of a European Empire's last days.

Powerful and moving, The Red Corduroy Shirt is a story of mutual prejudice and the open minds of children. Jake and Jerry are both immigrants from different countries. Although they like each other very much their families can't seem to get along. Jerry gives Jake a wonderful gift of a great red corduroy shirt but Jake's parents make him give it back. Told from the perspective of the children, the story holds powerful messages about prejudice and friendship.

The trip to Atlantic City was supposed to be a few days of fun for Clyde and Eddie, but the brothers find much more in the city of boardwalks. Clyde finds himself drawn into the city’s faded glitter by a lounge singer named Bunny, while Eddie ends up in the dark alleys surrounded by gangsters and the world’s cast-offs. When the worlds and the brothers collide, the result is a satire of modern life and contemporary values.
