    A nice, light read

Lydia runs a knitting shop in Seattle and has decided to start a class. Three people sign up. Elise is retired and dealing with a class action lawsuit to get back some of the money she paid for a house; in the meantime, she is living with her daughter and her family. Courtney is a teenager and has moved in with her grandmother for her senior year of high school; she knows no one and wants to lose weight before school starts in the fall. Bethanne has just discovered her husband has been cheating for two years and he is leaving her with her two teenage children to raise on her own; she has no idea how to support herself, as she hasn't worked outside the home in almost 20 years.

I quite enjoyed this! I read the first in the series a number of years ago, and probably never knew that it was a series and had forgotten about it. I liked the women and was interested to see where things would lead for them (though I have to admit I wasn't necessarily happy with the ending of the book for a couple of them). It was a nice, light read. As an aside, a couple of the main characters from the first book were very minor characters in this one, too. I likely will continue the series.

I love the way Debbie Macomber writes. You feel like a member of the Blossom Street Community.

In book two of the Blossom Street series you return to "A Good Yarn" the local yarn shop & it's proprietor Lydia. She had decided to offer a second knitting class. This session is learning to knit a pair of socks. Three new women join the class. Bethanne who is recently divorced & finding her way raising two teenagers by herself. Courtney Pulanski who has moved in with her grandmother for her senior year of high school. While her dad is on a year long contract working in Brazil. And Elise who is struggling with the unexpected return of her ex-husband Maverick; a professional gambler.

After reading A Good yarn you will be sad to see it end. Debbie Macomber takes you on a journey of self discovery, love and acceptance. Leaving you with a warm spot in your heart for her Blossom Street characters.

I thought that this book was fantastic. As a knitter, I appreciated all the references to my fav hobby, but it was an all around great book that I couldn't put it down. Its a book that I would read over again in a heart beat. It is great if you need to read something that is a "pick me up". Something that warms the heart

What a sweet and delightful novel this one is. Very romantic, full of love and generosity....as well as the women in the knitting class. Debbie Macomber has given us a delightful read. One in which I did not want to put down
