Abby Cooper Psychic Eye: A Psychic Eye Mystery

The first book the Abby Cooper series is off with a great start. Unquestionably a chick-lit paranormal mystery, it touches on, but doesn't actually dive head-on into uncomfortable overdone romance. A relief really! It just added to the enjoyment of the story without taking it over like some chick-lit. It should appeal to a male audience as well.
Abby struggles with getting the police to believe in her gift, as they waver between wanting to arrest her for knowing things only the killer would know and using her knowledge to solve cases.
Add into the mix that someone is stalking her, her love life is fizzling and her bestfriend/business partner is moving away. We've dropped into an interesting time in Abby's life. And it leaves you wanting more!

Abby Cooper is psychic, and makes a decent living telling folks the things her intuition tells her. She considers herself a fairly boring person - except for the psychic part, she's pretty mundane. She has a new house which is eating her savings, a dog that loves her, and a high-powered sister who she speaks to every day. Life, for Abby, is fairly uneventual.

And then a client arrives that gives Abby a sense of disquiet, and when Abby puts forth her intuitions, the client doesn't seem to want to believe. That happens. Then the client ends up dead, Abby's cassette of the session is found, and Abby's life is anything but uneventful thereafter.

Written with a fun and witty psychic heroine, the story has a solid mystery that isn't easily derailed by Abby's abilities. A romantic sub-plot keeps the sparks jumping, and you'll love Abby's witty voice. I look forward to the rest of the series.
