I have been a loyal Dark-Hunter fan. While I love the series, after a few there seems to be a pattern with the stories - always a tormented but worthy male who finds love unexpectedly. Even though this one follows a similar pattern I love that the first part was all about unveiling Ash's secret past and the love story part wasn't dragged out like some of the others. And who doesn't like a happy ending? I'd definitely recommend this one.

A story of a slave who finds out he had the right to be a prince. Archeron was mistreated by everyone and as it turns out he should have been a god. This book gives you a taste of how Sherrilyn Kenyon can write about less modern times to how she can write about more fantastical times. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in picking up a book and never wanting to putit down. I was lost in Archeron's life for days and I continue to read the books in her Dark Hunter series.

So here we finally have it, the story of Acheron. Pretty much every question anyone has ever had about Acheron is answered here.

Here we learn about his conception, his birth, his childhood and upbringing, even how he wound up tied to the heifer goddess Artemis. And seriously, if you liked Artemis for any reason before, that's all out the window now.

But like all of Kenyon's stories, Acheron's has a happy ending. Yes! He finally finds someone to love and love him in return. Really are we surprised that this happens? I'm just so happy with what comes about after he finds his woman. And I think most everyone else will too.

Wait, you're not reading it yet? What are you waiting for! Go!

Awe what can I say about this book except that it was AMAZING and it is definitley my favorive to this series. I have to say I waited a long time to get to this book I'm new to this series so I didn't realize that Ash's book would be number 15 of the series my eyes almost bugged out because of that but it was sooooo worth it. I loved this book I loved how we got to see what happened in Ash's past and that also showed us why he is the way he is the present day and I'm happy that we finally got the spotlight on him. I have to say even though I loved reading the past parts of the book it did become a bit much at times because I really wanted to get to the present day story. I also have to add that I HATE Artemis even more than I did in previouse books I mean she is so shelfish and it makes me wants to slap the s%$t out of her. Overall I loved this book and I really enjoyed the present day story and how we had out very loveable Ash all center of attention and I love Tory as his love interest they make a great couple for eachother. overall amazing book read this sereis so you can get to this book. :0)

I was so excited that Sherrilyn Kenyon was writing this book about the big guy. And then I read the book and was not comepletely thrilled anymore. The book does a good job of explaining alot of things about Ash, however it seems as though it repeats itself often. That being said I understand it was to get the reader to comprehend all the horrible things that happened to this mortal, and later this God. The second part of the book has the trade mark sarcassum that I enjoy with the writting. But there are still some long and drawn out parts that I could have done without. This book is a MUST read for those who are a fan of the series.

This is Acheron story, the one that all Kenyon fans have waited for. Ash is a god and the leader of the dark-hunters. He is also alone in the world. Ash keeps most of his secrets to himself and tries to lookout for the dark-hunters with no help from Artemis. Ash was mortal for only a few years compared to the 11,000 that he has been around for, but it affects him more than he lets people know. Ash was to be protected during his mortal life as his Atlantian Goddess mother decreed, but his life was full of abuse and hatred all of which was directed at him. Once Ash became the god that his was destined to be he tried to put it all behind him. Now one of his greatest enemies is trying to kill him in one the greatest battles that Ash has been in, one that could mean the end of the world if Ash loses. The other battle that Ash is fighting is the one that will finally allow Ash to open up to Tory. Can Ash let go of his past to finally let love into his life?

This is the best book in this series! I laughed and I cried (a lot!). It was such a hard read in the first half of the book. The things that happen to Ash, and everyone keeps beating him down until you wonder how he could be the caring person that he is. You think you know Ash from the glimpses that you get in the other books, but after reading this book you will know that it was just the tip of the iceberg! I have to say that by the time that Ash is fighting to get Tory back and all the dark-hunters were there to back him up, I laughed I, cried and my heart soared. I am not sure where the series will go from here as Ash was the centre of everything and now he has happiness/love all to his own that I want him to enjoy for the rest of his life!

Even as I write this I am still crying!! Happy tears!

Wow...what more needs to be said. This was the most anticipated Dark-Hunter novel and it was GREAT! I liked Ash from his very first appearance, and now I love his character. The began of the book was very hard to get through, I found myself crying, and very frustrated to the point I wanted to throw the book, I can actually say I was drained and would have to put the book down and walk away, it was very hard to read. But then the story between Ash and Tory begun and it was back to the way we crave for a Dark-Hunter story, well done SK it does not get any better.

This book is a one of kind in the dark hunter series that I discovers only one years ago. And sinces the first time the Ash come into the series I wanted to know all about him. I was happy to read it! Though the first part is hard on the torture and hardship of Ash first years because of is familly I was unable to put the books aside hopping it would go better... Well I go my wish in the end but now I want to know how it gonna go for the other dark hunter since Ash can't bather for their souls with Artemis now! Damn there is always something that goes wrong.

It took me a while to get through this book. I found that Part One was really hard to read because of all the pain and suffering that Acheron had to go through in his life. At times I didn't think I could stand to read any further and had to put the book down for days at a time which is unusual for me. Part Two was much more relaxed but I think the reader needed to know the tragic past of Acheron to truly appreciate the character that he became, despite his horrible life in Part One. I loved the second half of the novel because I wanted so badly for things to work out for Acheron. It was funny, action packed and ultimately made me love the book. I lenjoyed the relationship between Acheron and Tory and I will be running out to the store to get more of Sherrilyn Kenyon`s books.

This book is unbelievable. I laughed and cried, there is so much pain in this book that its hard to imagine that even in writing someone could suffer so much. My heart ached for Acheron and in the end I was so happy that I cried again. I hope Sherrilyn continues her story of Acheron, he is a man that could read about forever and I hope his story continues.

This book is the best one of the Darkhunter series. Sherrilyn Kenyon is able to make the reader feel so much emotion that I felt emotionally exhausted when I was finished, especially from the first part. If there is one Darkhunter novel you read, this should be the one.

Of all the books in the dark-hunter series, this is my favorite. Even how the pages are cut to make it look like it's an old book it awesome. This book takes you throught the very long and brutal life of Acheron. You finally find out why Ash is so secretive about himself. You wonder how someone could survive ever brutal thing he went through and still be a trusted leader of the dark-hunters and how he still tries to save human life. It is a long read, but well worth it. You learn of how Artemis became a part of Ash's life and there were times I wanted to reach through the book and strangle her myself she frustrated me so much. You also meet Tory, who will change Ash's life. Will she reveal Atlantis to save her families reputation, but ruin Ash, or does Ash mean more to her that she will protect him and leave Atlantis lost forever.

I can't even finish it, it is so bad. The first part was....alright, but the second part.... What a waist of a great character. I was hoping that he would have a great story, but i am fully dissapointed. I can't believe i waisted money on this book. I don't know if i will ever finish it, it is just so bad (in the way that it is just like ALL the others) same story, same EVERYTHING.....BORING!!!! I find that Kenyon's books are all starting to be the same. All that changes is the characters names and that's about it. It is soooo formulated. I actually had hopes for this book, but they were all destroyed two pages into the second part. I just have to put this book down and walk away, i can not finish it.

K, i FINALLY finished and kind of glad that i did. I just tried to pretend that it was not Ash and just some other character that i did not care about, and that was the only way i got through it. Ash is way too poor me poor me in this. I mean OK you were a Whore, who cares!!!! Why would people hold that against you (they didn't in ANY of the last books with the other guys and their "troubled pasts"), and why would you be scared that they did? Stand up for yourself and show that that you are worth it, like come on!!! I used to think so highly of Ash and this book really made me think WAY less of him, and not because of his past, but because he was not a strong person, he was actually kind of a cry baby. And Nick? Pul eez, get over it buddy!!!!

Did love that all the characters did rally with Ash at the end (well, yeah, why wouldn't they??) What ever, it is over and done with now i can move on....

I just finished Acheron and wow is pretty much all I can say. I took my time with this book because I didn`t want it to end. I laughed and cried while reading this book. The beginning was sad but it explains so much of Acherons character. The ending was fantastic, my heart is still smiling. Definitely a must read to all dark hunter fans!

I absolutely loved this book! It was killing me to read the series in order to get to Ash's story but it was so worth the wait. I am amazed at the horror he indured but I was so happy that he was able to find someone to love him....but then don't we all? This is a must read for us all who love Ash and would love to take him home! While it is brutal and shocking it was worth it in the end for the reader. Dark Hunter fans need to read this one...I was just sad when it was done!

I saw this book at the store, read the inside flap and decided I wanted to read it, but when I brought it home I discovered that it is part of a series. Do I have to buy all the others to read this one, or will it make sense if I read it by itself?

I really enjoyed this book, however I didn't find that it moved along as quickly as Sherrilyn's other books. I found chapter after chapter of Archeon beatings became really tiring.. also by the end he was starting to seem a bit like a whiny kid. I've always loved the Archeon character so I was a bit disappointed that the story seemed to diminish him somehow..

I like how Sherrilyn Kenyon did Acheron’s novel. He’s plays such a huge part in the series so far, and the way she wrote his book was appropriate. I loved, and yet was saddened by the story, how we got to read about his past. I think it was important that we read how it all began other wise we never would have understood Acheron at all. I was surprised how “light” his story finally was and yet I am happy with it, he deserved that piece of happiness in the end. This novel was a long time coming and I loved every minute of it.
