A biography of Ron Joyce

I did find this book to be an interesting read, and I also found it intrguing, at how Ron started the compeny with very little and turned it into a Canadian Icon. How every, I did find the book to be very one sided a little, as the book went on, by mainly taking about the franchise owners and not the staff and management that makes the store run it's day to day operations. In my opinion these are the people that should be noted in this book, becasue they are the peolpe that have helped to trun Tim Hortons in to what it is today. I did find out some stuff about the compeny that I did not know which I did find interesting. If you are into biographies or interested about Tim Hortons then I do Recommend this book.

"Always Fresh" is an intriguing biography written to show the hardship that one man goes through to pursue total success and happiness. Ron Joyce was born into a poor family in the small town of Tatamagouch, Nova Scotia. From a young age he had gone through many challenges and struggles. From his father dying when he was four to quitting school at the age of fifteen, Joyce has not had it easy. Joyce moved away from home at the tender age of 18 to find a job in the booming work industry of Ontario. Living in Kitchener gave him the freedom he did not have in his small town. It became home to him and from there he got married, joined the navy and welcomed fatherhood with open arms.

"Always Fresh" captures the struggles and challenges that one man has to go through to succeed. This novel shows many of the hardships a man has to deal with in life as well. Joyce did not have much but what he did have was perseverance which he showed time and time again throughout this novel. He lost his partner to a tragic car accident and was left by two wives but still through all this and more, he managed to make Tim Hortons what it is today.

For all you coffee lovers out there and others, this biography is a great read. It draws you in and shows you what life is all about. Learn the details that make one of the most famous Canadian franchises what it is today!

I really enjoyed it, a true rags to riches story. It was a great book and I have the utmost respect for the accomplishments of Mr. Joyce and Tim Horton. I would have liked to have seen a little more detail however what was there was very interesting. I grew up in Hamilton around the corner from store #1 and remember going there as a kid after it first opened. The book brought back a lot of great memories....

The book read very arrogant and one-sided. It is more the personal biography of Ron Joyce rather than the untold story of Tim Hortons.

Excellent first hand perspective on the company clearly outlining its successes and failures on the path to where it is today. A definite recommendation that you won't be disappointed with.
