I'm not a big fan of celebrity memoirs but Always Looking Up by MJ
Fox was a very good read. His writing style is very enjoyable and
entertaining, and his story is inspirational to say the least. Fox
does not shy away from writing about his condition and the book
gives a detailed, but easily understandable, explanation of
Parkinson's disease and his personal experiences coping with it.
I find many celebrity authors come across as arrogant but this was
not the case at all with this book. Fox comes across as a real
person, dealing with the same issues we all deal with: career,
family, health, etc. It's funny how he managed to do that in a book
where he also mentions random run-ins with Robin Williams...how
many people could pull that off? I also enjoyed how he detailed
starting his Foundation and his work lobbying for the PD community.
It was inspirational.
An entertaining memoir!
