I remember attempting to read this series in my first year of university (over 3 years ago). I never got more than two books in....I wasn't a big reader back then, and I was probably busy with schoolwork (Pfft, sure). I randomly grabbed this off my shelf yesterday. I starred at it for a couple minutes and decided to give it a go again. I figure it's about time I discover the story of Maximum Ride and her flock ;D. Overall I liked the book. Surprisely I actually remembered it from when I first read it. It was weird that it all came back to me, I guess I retained more of the book than I initially thought. It's one of those scenarios that really sticks with you...the whole mutant experiments/bird kids is definitely original. I will be reading the second installment, School's Out Forver, which I'm hoping will be that much better now that we know a little bit more about Max's world. Random: -cool cover....I have an older version, but the cover is still pretty awesome. -I like the formatting. Quick short chapters keep the book fast paced.

i didnt think that i would really injoy this book when i looked at the cover, but my did i ever chang my mind. But if you hate sad endings and then having to wait a year for the last book to come out, dont read it K, nah you gotta read it, its AMAZING!

I read a lot of books and my favorite are adventure books, but I've got to say that after the harry potter series this is my favorite and by far the best adventure series I've read in a long time. The writing is so smooth and fluent . The characters go right to your heart and , I mean come, on a book about kids that can fly with a load of bad guys chasing them everywhere has bound to be a recipe for success RIGHT? The short and beautifully written chapters make it impossible to put the book down. Overall an excellent read for any age. I mean I'm 17 and I enjoyed the heck out of it.

I can not say 'wow' enough times to even begin to cover how amazing this book is! Two of my friends read this book before me and said that it was really good. It didn't look that good to me, so I didn't read it until i had nothing else to read. Which i waaay regret now. Basically, there is a flock (yes i know how strange that sounds) of six kids that grew up in a school that altered their DNA. They are now 98% human and 2% bird. So yes, they have wings. the school that created these bird kids are treating them crually and unfairly, so a man named Jeb takes these 6 bird kids away. when Jeb dies, Maximum Ride (Max) assumes the position of leader of her flock. But can the bird kid's stay where they are, safely hidden away? And yes, i know that that does not sound like the best read, but just give it a shot. you will not regret it. this book is perfect for all ages (though i'd say mostly teens), and all genders (although i'd say mostly girls) and people who like all different types of books; pretty much all action with some romance on the side (although there isn't a lot of romance in the first book) I literally read these books three a day, that's how good they are... So please give it a shot... you will be so pleasently surprised

All I can say is....Wow! This is a sci-fi that keeps on giving. Full of adventure, drama, and action packed all the way through. One of James Patterson's best.

I was browsing at Chapters trying to find somthing to read and i saw this book i thought it looked great so i went to pay for it. I got home and started reading it.... i couldnt put it down amazing that all i have to say. Action packed, romance anything you like is put into here. BUY IT!

OMG! OMG! This book is amazing. Everyone who is reading this review you must read this book. It has fantasy, sci fi, action and romance! I recmend this book to ages 8-1000000 years old! If you excuse me I must now go find the second book go crazy then read it.

This book was thrilling, creative, idiosyncratic and all in all perfect! It provided an element of action, but was still able to tie some romance into it. I recommend it to A-N-Y-O-N-E. It is great for adults, teenagers and anyone in between. A new favorite!

Max is stuck taking care of her flock after Jeb dies. All is going well until the Erasers start chasing her and the flock around the world. With a voice in her head telling it's all a game, and the Erasers chasing after her, it's quite an adevnture. I love Maximum Ride. I devoured them in a week or two. They are amazing, with the non-stop rollercoaster ride of adventure and emotion, I highly recommend this book to anyone of any age.

Wow. This book starts of fast and just get faster. Now this is what you call a great action thriller. The characters are very lovable and the fact that they can fly is always making you think (and in my case, jelous.) This is one of my favorite books. I read it in one day, I couldnt put it down! It was so exciting, you HAVE to read this series.
