An ancient secret brotherhood. A devastating new

weapon of destruction. An unthinkable target.

World-renowned Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to a Swiss research facility to analyze a cryptic symbol seared into the chest of a murdered physicist. What he discovers is unimaginable: a deadly vendetta against the Catholic Church by a centuries-old underground organization -- the Illuminati. Desperate to save the Vatican from a powerful time bomb, Langdon joins forces in Rome with the beautiful and mysterious scientist Vittoria Vetra. Together they embark on a frantic hunt through sealed crypts, dangerous catacombs, deserted cathedrals, and the most secretive vault on earth . . . the long-forgotten Illuminati lair.

Wow, this was really really really great read! I could not put it down! Some of the parts were amazingly written, really wanted me to explore rome and find out more about the city and the art, I actually found myself on google trying to get a image on some of the churches that were described in the book. Honestly you must read this book! I cant wait till Dan Brown comes out with the lost symbol, his style of writing is amazing!!

I have not had the pleasure of reading the Da Vinci Code as of yet, but I must admit i really enjoyed Angels and Demons. Granted it wasn't a great literary masterpiece nor will it earn a place in history aside from being 'the other book the Da Vinci author wrote.' But it was well paced, the characters were enjoyable, and the story was creative and intriguing and I loved the twist at the end. All in all, a good, enjoyable read.

    • And, actually it was written before Da Vinci Code (which is its sequel) so now you're set to read Da Vinci next, lol.

Sometimes if you are really hungry, even McDonald's tastes great. Reading this book was a little like eating at Mac's. It is filling but not quite tasty or satisfying. The book begins at a fast pace with Langdon being summoned in the middle of the night by a secret Swiss organization that dabbles in cutting edge scientific research. The book is quite a page-turner with many twists and turns as Langdon discovers more and more facets to the crisis. However, halfway through the novel, the events… read more

Move over The Da Vinci Code, this novel blows that one out of the water. Wish I would have read this one first since it actually takes place before. Couldn't put it down and was sad when it was over!
