The series starts out with Artemis at twelve-years-old. He is a genius, but a devious one. However, despite his rather selfish nature you cannot help liking him. And don't worry, he does change for the better. These books are full of likable characters: Butler, the everwatchful bodyguard. Holly, a mischevious but responsible fairy. Root, the retired but not-so-retired Major. Fowly, the ingenius centaur...I could go on and on. Definately a must read for any fantasy/adventure lover.
