    Fun read!

    Owl Read It

Artemis Fowl was a fun, short read. I enjoyed reading it and it was a bit different from the other books about fae I have read lately. The fae in this series are living underground, near the Earth's core, because they can't really coexist with humans. Unlike other fae, these ones have very advanced technology. Most fae are nature lovers and can't touch iron, so this kind of goes against that. So a bit of a different twist, but a good one.

Artemis is a 12 year old genuis, who is looking for a way to steal some faery gold. So he kidnaps one, which happens to be Holly Short, and randsoms her. I can really tell if as time goes on he feels sorry for Holly or not, but for a 12 year old kid, Artemis is pretty evil.

Even though I enjoyed the story, I feel it didn't hold me. As in, I could just put it down regardless of where I was in the book. I had fun reading, but there wasn't the need to continue reading while wandering around my house. Regardless, I'm still going to read the second book in the series and see how I make out with that one. Hopefully I will get sucked into it more.

Overall, this is a fun and quick read. It is well written and different from the normal story about fae. I would recommend it, since it is good, just didn't have me in suspense the whole time.

Artemis Fowl: The criminal mastermind is always 2 steps ahead of you, no matter what you do. He is smart, brave, intelligent, arrogant, and cooler than I’ll ever be. Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer is the best book, I’ve ever read. I don’t know how Eoin Colfer thought of it, but he has made a wonderful book. This book is extremely good because its an action-packed book that I couldn’t stop reading. The book started with action and the action never stopped. Artemis is a genius millionaire that can make war with anyone in less than 5 minutes. It was suspenseful because you couldn’t put the book down, EVER. The fast pace of the book kept me awake and reading all night. I read it in 3 days. It was funny and exciting because of the great descriptions Eoin Colfer gave. You may think that fairies are not real, but Eoin Colfer makes the fairies seem real and believable. This is not a traditional fairy tale since it involves real people, science and technology. I highly recommend this book to everyone because it was action-packed and it was that good. Read it and see if you agree.

i loved this book! It was really great! It was full of adventure and sometimes really sad. I feel bad for Artemis because his parents are never with him but he's a genius and this book was great! I loved it!!!!!!!!! Read it!!! It wasn't as confusing as the others. The best one, I love butler too. He seems really nice and willing to risk his life to help and save Artemis.

I don't like criticizing authors' work. But I will make an exception for this book. I couldn't finish it. Just saying that is something. I didn't even get to page 100 when I abandoned it. Some of you might say it gets better or something, but I personally found this book boring.

I might be completely wrong saying this and that maybe it DOES get better by the end. I will give it another chance, but for now, I don't like it at all.

After reading the Harry Potter books I didn't think I could find anything that would pull me into the pages again. Then I read Artemis Fowl! The characters are intriguing, funny and unique. The story moves at a wonderful pace, not too slow and not too rushed!

It was creative with great vocabulary. I was scepticle at the beginning with fairies and stuff but turned out to be the best book I have ever read. I would recomend it to anyone ages 5 or 35. It wouldn't matter anyone would love it.

Yes, it is great with vocabulary ... however, with that comment I find it funny that you spelt 'sceptical' wrong.

Most people don't believe in fairies. 12 year old criminal mastermind Artemis Fowl believes in them. And he wants there gold.
In one of the best books I have ever read, Artemis Fowl and his huge bodyguard named Butler kidnap an elf named Holly Short. What he doesn't know is she is a Captain in the Lower Elements Police, or LEP for short, and the LEP want her back. They will need to use time fields, bio bombs and even a dwarf with gas problems. The dwarf is named Mulch Diggums and is my favourite character.
Will Artemis succeed in his kidnapping plot to get gold? Or is there really good inside of him? Read this best seller to find out!

ARTEMIS FOWL is a name I still can't forget about, due to the exciting and incredible book by Eoin Colfer. There are four books in the series, and this is the first one, jam-packed with action, adventure, laughter and mystery. No doubt about it, you won't regret meeting this young, rich and smart criminal mastermind named Artemis Fowl with his bodyguard Butler and the fairies with their LEPrecon unit!

This book was a lot of fun! It was sort of James Bond meets Harry Potter. There were some really cool gadgets described that you would get from James Bond, and the magical world of faries and trolls and such that you could get from Harry Potter. It was a very quick read. I neither like nor dislike Artemis Fowl (though I do wonder how that character got his name?). I'd be interested in reading more about Holly Short and Root though!
Overall, a fun book, something that children would enjoy a lot!

Eion Colfer is genius with this book, it grabs your attention at the very start and keeps going on strong. The dialect is intellegent and it has a smart storyline the whole way through. The charecters are believable and seem to come to life. This is by far one of the best books I've ever read.

I extremely enjoyed this book. Colfer creates the Fairy world, Haven with an amazing ability to draw you into the place yourself. The secret message written on the bottom each page in gnommish is a fun thing to do if you like deciphering codes, and is well worth the work at the end.

I love this book :D it just pulls me in, it's just amazing what Colfer creates. Just a mood and atmosphere that you can just picture in your head. Though question is that people in Italy are afraid of a troll thats about 3 feet tall. How can Butler get beat up by a Troll less then twice his size?
