This book was excellent. I read it last night and went:
"I want to read more... but by the sounds of it this was the last book... damn..."

Yup, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. If nothing else I suggest you read it because it's entertaining to see a 14 year old Artemis Fowl deal with his 10 year old self. Besides, Artemis is developing a conscience, a surprising the development that makes the story much more interesting.

Basically a must read for anyone who has read the other books.
For those of you who haven't: I suggest you start.

My only complaint is that the Artemis Fowl series is found in the 'Fiction 9-12' section. Personally I don't think it belongs there and I felt quite self-conscious walking into that section to find this book. But, in the end, it was worth it. The book is excellent.

(However, I also don't believe that this was the strongest book in the Artemis Fowl series. It may have been excellent, but I found that something was missing.)

Not living up to the series..

I am a HUGE Artemis Fowl fan, and knew I had to pick up this book as soon as I could. As I read this book, I constantly found it a drag, as most of the first half the book was somewhat slow. It didn't feel like the first 5 Artemis Fowl books; you will see that some of our favorite characters will be playing VERY [and I emphasis very] minor roles, and not as much of the Artemis Fowl "planning and executing" is seen (not as much as its predecessors). I forced myself to finish the book, but in the ending, I was pretty satisfied. This is all in my opinion, but hey; if you're a FowlFan, this book is a read for you.

Ah Artemis, how I wish you were real! The more books that get added to this series, the more, and more I enjoy them! Eoin Colfer may be writing for kids, but I still really enjoy these reads - there is always something exciting to be found in their pages.

Time Paradox is no exception to the series. Colfer has constructed a wonderful story with all sorts of interesting loops and twists - and not just in the fabric of time.
The characters are masterfully developed and well rounded. I enjoyed seeing how Artemis has changed so much since the original first book.
I wonder how much of a regular character Opal is going to become though - there is only so many ways you can re-use a character after they've outright lost.

Certainly worth the read, for everyone young and old alike.
