Bought this book for $5.99 at the local Chapters. Figured, what the hell? I feel I should go back and pay full price. This is truly an astounding novel. The narrator, her father, husband, and brothers are so vividly imagined. I became very involved in Kitty's life as I read this book. The narrative threatens to fall apart in the last fifty-or-so pages, but it is still a fantastic book.

I picked up this book from the library a while back and can say how I could relate on some levels with this character lost in her own world, living a life strange and difficult to many I assume. You will see in her other novels she doesn't follow the same kind of fiction a kind of writer I relish I seldom read any books unless it is a continuation but a short one. Not for those expecting Potter like situation but those who like to explore different styles of one writer.

This book has some really great moments, and for the most part I love the way the author writes. Not really life changing - but this book is definately worth a read. The only thing that bothered me was how it ended, but other than that, the main characters are weird and great and it tells a sweet story. Good read overall.
