I got this book for christmas this year as a present from my sister. It was the best gift I got because it has opened up a whole new world of great stories for me. Since then I bought copies for some of my friends. I really recommend that you get a copy.

I also picked up a copy in New Brunswick this weekend (Hi Guys!) and love it. This will make for a great Christmas gift for those looking to get their friends or family members interested in our writers and books.

I had seen a lot os stuff in the media about this book and so I decided to pick it up this weekend and I wasn't disappointed at all. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to know more about this part of the world. There are so many amazing writers here! I really had no idea that some of these books were from the east coast or that so many awesome stories came from here. Way to go guys for bringing it all together for me in one fantastic collection.

    don't attack me too!

i did like this book because it got me thinking about all of the amazing writers we have here on the east coast. it would have been nice to see more poetry covered but that would take another book all it's own. and i didn't agree with all the selections but i think that is what the goal of the book was and that's to get people thinking and talking about books from here. really interesting to read and dicuss.

    Please don't attack

I bought this book and didn't like it. I'm a bit afraid to say so, but I didn't. I wanted to like it, but I found the writing style of the reviews to be akin to vocabulary gymnastics.

To those of you who have already reviewed the book on this site...please don't attack me for my opinion. I'm allowed to not like the book.

    Missing the point

    Hali Gonian

You people are all missing the point here. The book does one thing and it does it pretty well and thats to get people talking about our books and writers. Who cares about the authors? I have read all sorts of reviews about the book and it didnt influence me one bit. I prefer to make up my own mind so I bought a copy and I really like it alot. Its not perfect but it is very positive about our books and writers which is more than I can say about what you people have written.

    Simply Brilliant!

    Nicole Perotti

My expectations were also high when I first heard about this project. Unlike the previous reviewer, however, I took the time to actually read the book.
Along with an array of breathtakingly high-end glossy images and fascinating contributions from some of the region's most reputed sources, the write-ups are masterfully written and deliciously insightful - a strong mix of style and substance.
A brilliant idea that was long overdue and an ideal Christmas gift for both the newbie or those who are well-acquainted with Atlantic Canada's great storytelling tradition. - Highly recommended!

I bought this book with great anticipation, and for this reason it made the fall even more painful when I realized it was filled with generic and superficial reviews that fail to give the masterful authors listed within its pages due justice. Mr. Adams and Mr. Clare have compiled a list of obvious winners and tagged along with them reviews that could have been written by my 12 year old son. From one Atlantic Canadian avid reader to another – save your time and money this holiday season, this book isn’t worth the paper it’s written on.

This coming from someone who obviously can't even string a proper sentence together? How embarrassing.

    Joe Justice

Very classy, insulting the previous poster, makes your review all the more credible.

    Literary Nerd

LOL. Looks like I struck a personal cord. Critiquing the grammar of an average Atlantic Canadian reader – brilliant! Clearly the average reader is not your target audience. Save this book for the community of literary elite, because clearly everyone else is not intelligent enough to get it. Either that or we haven’t mastered our computer’s grammar check or thesaurus function as "Nicole" obviously has. Oh, and by the way, I did read your book. Unfortunately I paid full price. I should have checked the ratings on this site, as this book is clearly destined for failure.
