This is a wonderfully informative,
interesting, and engagingly-written
account of Professor Foster's
experience in literary forensics -
determining an unknown author via
such things as the grammar,
spelling, punctuation, and historical
circumstances of an anonymous
document.
Professor Foster shares his
experiences in tracking down the
authors of such diverse works as
Primary Colors, the Unabomber
Manifesto, and 'Twas the Night
Before Christmas. The chapters are
written with a keen eye for detail and
a clear understanding that they are
intended for a lay-reader. This is very
much a page-turner, as befits a
documentary whodunit.
If even half of the wit and insight in
this book comes across in Professor
Foster's lectures, his students are
very lucky indeed!
