    Fabulous book covering Canadian History

This book is supposed to be splitting all of Canada's Prime Ministers into one of two categories - b@stards (the review won't let me type that word which is hilarious) or boneheads. One isn't good and one isn't bad - you'll find great Prime Minister's in either category. However, the book is so much more than that. Obviously, some people out there know a lot of Canadian history. I am not one of them. I know I learned a fair bit in school but it seems to have fallen out of my head as an adult. This book is a fabulous funny extremely wide ranging look at Canadian history from the very first settlement of Europeans, the horrible things that they (and us) have done to the native population right up to Brian Mulroney and almost present day. And funny, oh so funny. This is so hilarious and covers so much. Will does go on to write Canadian History for Dummies so he knows a lot of stuff. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a marvelously entertaining comical look at Canadian history where you will actually learn (or probably re-learn) tons of stuff. I simply loved it!!!

It's not often that history can be entertaining and learning can be fun, but Ferguson strikes a balance between the serious and the humourous to create a good read that will fill you with knowledge to impress even the stodgiest of teachers. I definitely recommend hitting your local library or bookstore to pick this one up.

I couldn't put it down. The realization that this country has become what it is, because of the famous "bastards". Will Ferguson has, with humor, given a differant perspective to Canadian history. It's refreshing to read something so blatantly honest, and so human. Makes me wish the book kept going on.
