I liked Beastly, but I didn't love it. What I did like, however, was the fact that the story was twisted in a unique way and was different from the classic Beauty and the Beast. It was a modern version, which was quite creative. It demonstrated how many people in our current society base their feelings on appearance, wealth and popularity. The novel showed the transition of Kyle's personality excellently; going from a shallow, arrogant Kyle to a sensitive, humble Adrian. What I did not like was how it was so predictable because it was based on a well-known, classic fairy tale. Predictability really turns me off-- I enjoy spontaneous and unpredictable story lines. Furthermore, Kyle's arrogance, insensitivity and stupidity REALLY frustrated me in the beginning, which created a bad impression on the novel right from the start. This book is a good read if you want a heart-warming story. I, for one, like a deep, complex, unpredictable and full-of-non-stop-action story. Beastly was not for me.

Beastly is a remake of the classic “Beauty and the Beast” but from the beasts perspective in 21st century New York City. We as people judge others on the way we look, instead of what is on the inside. This story explains the inner beauty that can be found within oneself. I enjoyed this book because the way it made me feel, and also how the beasts’ character developed throughout the book. The authors’ style of writing really helped me feel as if I was in the story and knew the characters at a personal level. The ending of the book was superb. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance stories.

I saw that there is going to be a movie based on this book so I though I should read this before going to see it. It is a retelling of the fairytale story Beauty and the Beast. I never liked Beauty and the Beast as a kid. I have seen all the Disney movies but never really felt something about this story, except for the little mermaid... I loved that one! Anyway so I thought why not reading this book. I may actually like the story if it is on today's terms. It's about a boy named Kyle and he is obsessed with his own vanity. He thinks, people that being less than perfect doesn't deserve any attention at all. And perfect, by his terms, is anyone who has money and beauty. He doesn't behave nice to people that aren't perfect like him but a witch comes to put an end to that. Sendra, is a witch that has been watching him for a while and feel discussed by what he is doing.... so she decides to give him a lesson.... an ugly one... She transforms hims into a beast and the only way to get out of this curse is to find someone to love him in this form. He has to find a girl to love him and of course he has to love her back in order to break the curse. And all that in two years notice. I wouldn't say that I loved the book and that is because I don't like Beauty and the Beast so much.... but I can say that I enjoyed it. I liked that the book was told by the boy point of view. I liked how his character changed after his transformation. He wasn't a good guy and I didn't like him at all how he was at the beggining. A guy that was only interested in money and beauty living by his Dad's money and fame. But all that changed when he became a beast. He became more aware that there is more out there aside from money and beauty. He relises that he had never loved or been loved before and that seems impossible now that he is a beast. A girl though comes to prove him wrong. If you like fairytales being told in today's world and like the Beauty and the Beast... this is for you.

prehaps the best modern adaptation of the tale beauty and the beast. this book tells the perfect story toldfrom the beasts point of view.

Very good book, easy to read and very quick to read as well. Saw both the movie and read the book and I enjoyed the book more, I thought it was more in depth on the feelings and all the details that make it even more interesting to read. I recommend this book it's a very good read.

I read this before the movie came out and although the movie was great and true to the story I found more in depth feelings in the book and more in depth thought. This book is something I borrowed from the Library then bought it when I was done reading it. Its something I know I will read again. I loved the story and the characters and even more I loved the modern twist on the classic tale. Great stuff!

I haven't seen the movie, but this book is really great. It's a pretty quick read, but it has all the elements of being really enjoyable. It's go the right amount of romance, the dark and mysterious beast we adore and a happily-ever-after ending. Flinn did a great job of modernizing a classic story.

for anyone who liked the story of beauty and the beast as a child will love this modern take on the classic story... - NOTHING like the movie- the book is so much betterr!!

Such an intriguing take on the Beasts perspective. It's the character you love to hate, sadly the ending was predictable but I'm usually pretty good at sniffing that sort of thing out. Great character development obviously. I recommend it to anyone who loves little romance mixed with action, it's a great quick read. The movie is going to be completely wrong so read the book instead.

This book was amazing. It was my perfect type of read. Hostile, funny, and downright romantic. I wouldn't change a thing about this book and it is one of my favorite reads. I highly request this book for 13-17 year olds :) ENJOY!
