Though my reason for becoming vegetarian was out of compassion for animals, this book showed me all the great health benefits you can gain if you know what to eat and how to eat it. Reading this book was a true motivation to make healthy changes in my life, and it also convinced me that giving up meat was the right thing to do. Melina and Davis clearly explain the relation between the foodgroups, and vitamins and minerals in terms that everyone can understand. The book also includes delicious recipes, and tips on how to explain to others why you have chosen this lifestye. Also helpful for those who aspire to be vegan, overall this book was excellent.

When people make the decision to become vegetarian they are often overwhelmed by the conflicting opinions of friends and family. They hear stories of malnutrition and anemia and become concerned about their ability to eat a well balanced vegetarian diet. This book helps teach new and old vegetarians how to ensure that they are getting all of the necessary nutrients.

The best thing about this book is that it shows that a nutritionally complete vegetarian diet is not rocket science. It can be very reassuring to parents of young vegetarians who are often unsure of what there children can now eat. The fact that the book is written by registered dieticians means that the nutritional information can be trusted.

A very good book (with some wonderful recipes as a bonus).

This book explains reasons for going vegetarian, detailed information about nutrition, and even hints for how to deal with friends and family who don't support your choice. I find myself using this book as a reference often.
