    Even Better Than The First!

BED OF ROSES by Nora Roberts I loved this book!! There wasn't anything that I didn't like. Emma is so sweet and perfect, and a pure romantic, and Jack is such a typical man's man, but in a good way, and darn sexy and sweet, too. Sigh. They are so freakin' cute. All the regular characters who showed up in Book #1 that were back I just adored them - all of them! Can I just say that I can't be the only one who was excited over Triad's appearance, am I right? :) I think I like this one even better than Book #1, and that one was awesome. I am a sucker for flowers, but that in no way influenced my choice. Really. ;) I thought Emma and Jack's relationship was so sweet and sexy and just...everything! I loved BED OF ROSES so much! *sigh* Nora Robert's knows how to do a romance, that is for certain, so yet another point to her in my books. I can't wait to read Book #3; I have a feeling I know who Laurel will end up with...and Parker, too! ;) And if I'm right, then, yay! Awesome first half to this quartet. Highly, highly recommended! :) P.S. - I hope I wasn't the only one who had the Bon Jovi song 'Bed of Roses' stuck in my head the whole time I was reading this, lol. :) Overall Opinion: A+ (or better!) There are no words for how disappointed I was...

After the first book in this quartet, I was really looking forward to this and when I bought it I went straight home to devour it like I've been doing with Nora Roberts novels for over 10 years now. Now, the first ¾ of the book, I would give it about 3 stars, it wasn't bad but it wasn't awesome. However, I hated the way the dramatic tension was carried out at the end by all characters involved and was written in such a way as COMPLETELY CRAZY behavior by the protagonist was perceived as being completely appropriate. By the time I put the book down, after forcing myself to finish it, I couldn't stand the main character and was not rooting for her in the least, in fact I was rooting for the male lead to come to his senses and run away. Additionally, the overbearing behavior of one of the other characters, who will be the lead in one of the future books, made me greatly dislike her as well. This series, which started out promising for me, will not be one that I will continue to read.

    Good Book

Enjoyable romance novel and a lovely second book in the Bride Quartet. Roberts always writes a beautiful tale and I've found this series really delightful. I am not big into straight romances, but every once and a while I like to dive into one and this series has been a great outlet. Fans that love straight romance will lap this up and be satisfied with it. While Mac is probably my favorite character with Laurel running in second I was worried that Emma's character wouldn't grab me. Thankfully I found myself quite liking Emma and her romantic outlook. Sometimes authors write the romantic character with two feet off ground and their heads in the clouds that they tend to bug me. Emma did not fit this. While she was romantic and enjoyed romance she wasn't a push over and didn't see things that weren't there. Jack. Jack was just what you expect from Roberts. Hot in that overly male yet romantic way. A good read and I'm looking forward to the next book coming out.

    A wonderful light read

If you're looking for wonderful romance and enjoyed Vision in White, then you MUST read this novel. The second novel from the Bride Quartet Series breaks the rules: the sequal is actually better than the first novel! I love Emmaline as a character. I also love the foreboding in the novel, which, if I'm right, will lead right into the third book of the series. A fun read!

The second of four books is as good as the first. It also set it up for books three and four.

    A Solid Read

Like the read of Roberts' fans, I was anxiously waiting for the next installment of the series. And in all honesty -- I loved the first one more. For "Bed of Roses" I did love the chemistry and spark between Emma and Jack, but I found the story between Mac and Carter to be, well, more romantic. Emma is a dynamic and die-hard romantic, and Jack has a more play-boy, worldly appeal. They're both accomplished, attractive individuals and that made the story worth reading. However, the book wasn't as engaging as the first, and I didn't find myself liking Jack as much as I had enjoyed Carter. But nonetheless, this is another great novel by Nora Roberts. It was a fun and great read!
