So when I picked this book I had no idea of what to expect, by the end I was hoping it would just keep going on. It was a very entertaining book and a good look into the lives of the rich and beautiful, who don't live the same lives the rest of us do.

    I loved this book!

I read this book and loved it right away. The main character may seem a little flaky but she is a really funny character. It is a little slow in the middle, though still hilarious, but it picks up again and has a great ending. I loved it so maybe you will too.

This was one of those great books that is a fun, light read. It was funny, and just so out there that you had to love it.
Once I started reading it I couldnt put it down. I absolutely loved it.

I thought this book looked so interesting when I bought it. Once I started reading it, I figured I was wrong. The story was so far fetched and while it was somewhat humerous I could not relate to the characters and the million dollar lives they each led. I did finish the book, but the end was to be expected. In my opinion, there are plenty of other much better books to enjoy.

I was expecting a great chick lit book when I bought Bergdorfs blondes, but after only 10 pages I just couldn't read anymore. I was so disappointed. The book was really boring and I'm glad I didn't buy Plum Sykes other book. If this is the type of book you like, I highly recommend "Everyone Worth Knowing" by Lauren Wiesburger.

When I bought the book I wasn't expecting anything fantastic. But after I finished reading the first page I was instantelly hooked, I loved how the protagonist and Julie both had opinions on eveything, I was really impressed and would recommend it to Chick Lit fans.

    Who cares!

I only got through the first 60 pages of the book before I decided that this book is definetly not what I expected it to be. It of course is a Chick Lit, but I guess I didn't find it humorous or maybe I just didn't care. I only finished the book thinking maybe there is a point to it all, or somewhere along the way there would some major development. No, there was nothing.

    laugh out loud

This book is so far from my frame of reference but, I just loved it! The main character is spoiled and self absorbed you just can't help but laugh. (And love her anyway!) The vernacular the character and her friends use is a scream! Are you dressed for Brazil right now? (Read the book to find out what that means.) This does read like a novelization of real life, which is, I'm sure, exactly what it is. All the namedropping is what makes it so much fun.

The book started off a bit slow for me but after the first chapter I really got interested in the book. Love the author and am going to purchase her next book.

    The Worst Book Ever

This book is horribly boring. Lots of useless name dropping if you ask me. I love chick lit but have never watched Sex in the City so maybe that's why I didn't get it. Either way, it was a total waste of $. Two books that I did truly love however are Devil Wears Prada and Something Borrowed. Now those are worth reading!

I completely agree. The worst book ever. Couldn't get into the characters and I had to force myself to finish it. I've read several similar New York-style books but this one was at the bottom of the list. It was way too flaky for my liking.

This book is meant to be a light, comedic read, poking fun at the 'bergdorf blondes' (think Paris Hilton.)

In its attempt to be easy reading, your bombarded with so many references to designers, fashion, guys and Brazil, that it just becomes overwhelming. I held out and the last chapter was definately the highlight of the book, but it wasn't worth pushing myself to get to then end, definately not a page-turner. IF your looking for this type of book, I would recommend 'The Devil Wears Prada, or Second Assistant instead!!

I just finished this book I bought it about 3 days ago and from the minute I bought it I haven't been able to put it down. It was one of the best books I have read in a long time, really funny, and great ending. I look forward to another book by Plum Sykes, I just hope the next one can top this one. I would recommend this book 100%

This is the first book I have read in years, and I am very impressed. I couldn't put it down. Sykes' clever comparisons will forever be stuck in my mind.. I will never think of Brazil the same way. I look forward to reading more of her work.

To be honest, the only great thing about this book was it's cover! That's what drew me to it! When I started reading the first chapter I realized I made a horrible mistake in purchasing this book! It's full of superficial characters and a bunch of name dropping (etc...Prada).
I can normally read a good book within 2-3 days...this one took way to long too read because I wasn't very interested.
So, if you must read it, borrow it from a friend or from the library...don't waste your money!

Even though this novel is a cheesy knock off to the typical sex and the city genre...I couldn't stop reading. I was so absorbed in the lifestyle of the characters in the magical place where one gets absorb in their reading that it was a funny, sad, and turn of events ending that kept me going. I have to say I truly enjoyed this chick lit and can't wait to see what this woman shall write again. I do not want to give away anything by writing about it but this book is well worth the read for something light, and to appease that inner girl in us who wished they could prance through haute coutre clothes and walk down rodeo drive.
