I loved Birds of Prey because it was not what I was expecting. It has great characters, lots of detail, and hot...you know. Pity that poor young swashbuckler who falls to the wiles of a wanton vixen! She's no good! Don't do it! But...oh...the *ahem* is hot. OK. But she's evil!!! Now the author is distracting me with how to tell if gunpowder is good or not. Wait! We're being attacked! Come about!!!

    Sorry. Got carried away there.

As you can probably tell, I enjoyed it. ;)

An excellent read...the detail given to the characters and their personalities enhances the already suspenseful story line. There is never a dull moment and it keeps you wanting more.

Birds of Prey is the most thrilling novel I've read in a long time. Smith is a master!!! At times I felt I was sailing the high seas along with Hal and his crew. The characters are truly magnificant; loyal, passionate, adventurous, cunning, and at times even vile. A book worth reading over and over again.

This is one of the best books I have ever read. The characters are great and the connections between them are deep and well planned. It is a thoughtful story that will enchant you. You see the main character grow throughout the book. You see young Henry go from child to adult. You will not be disappointed by this book.
