I was breathless to the end and mad as hell. I didn't want it to end as it did, but it is an wonderful ending none the less! Another great Patricia/Kay novel.

Patricia Cornwell continues her exciting Kay Scarpetta series with this story beginning with the discovery of a body in a shipping container. It goes on in various directions, including a trip to Paris and involvement of Interpol. The characters of Kay, Marino, and Lucy are developed further, showing how human and vuknerable they all are in their own way. I found the ending a bit forced, almost too abrupt. But overall, a good read.

As always with Patricia Cornwell's books, I could not put this one down. While vacationing I read this book, and if given the choice the whole trip would have been spent reading. It was so suspenseful and packed with intrigue. It always stayed interesting with new turns in the plot, and more hooks to grab the reader into the story. New types of forensic science were described in this book, deviating from the usual DNA and autopsy information. Definetly one of her best books, a real thriller with all the aspects of a bestseller.

Black notice is a smooth read, with a subtle build to a breaking climax. Not a typically written Scrapetta format , the characters anxiety and demons show more of themselves then ever before with an ending that leaves the reader breathless. Everyone is on the brink of their careers and I look forward to the follow up in the after math of this story.

I think Black Notice is a little bit different from Cornwell's other books. It shows more of the passionate side of Kay towards Benton. Also, with Benton's death, a lot of sadness is added to the story, which is rather new from before. The only thing that I don't really like is how Kay suddenly jump from griving for Benton's death to falling in love with another handsome guy. Other than that, I think this is a really good book.

Very good, this book is what got me hooked on Kay Scarpetta. I could only put it down to go out and buy the rest of her books. Kay Sparpetta is portrayed as a real person with problems and fears that the reader can relate to. Edge of the seat suspense, you try to find out who the bad guy is with her! You get sucked into the plot. The developement of character makes you know Pete Marino and Lucy, you feel what they do; if they are angry or confused, so are you. They are like old friends (Especially if you have read the other books) This is defineity a book you stay awake at night reading! If you haven't read anything else by Patricia Cornwell I suggest you go out and buy the beginning of the series, it is easier to understand the main characters and the baggage they come with. Overall this book is the one that got me hooked (and now I have them all)

I am a big fan of Patricia Cornwell and have enjoyed her previous books. Unfortunately this one seems rushed and almost (I hate to say it) formula. the story is not well developed and the ending....its almost like she needed to finish the book quickly. I hope the next one is not quite so average.

I'm a big fan of Patricia Cornwell's and while all of her Kay Scarpetta books are great, her latest, Black Notice, is definitely one of the best. Patricia Cornwell shows just how human her toughest characters, Dr. Scarpetta, Captain Pete Marino and Lucy, really are. A must-read for all Patricia Cornwell fans!

Because I've read every Scarpetta novel and Black notice so far is Patricia Cornwell's last in the "Dr.Kay Scarpetta" series..I wanted to prolong this book for as long as I could. I couldn't do it. I read it all hardly putting it down. I loved it yet again! Same old "great" reading as always. Now I'm left with the memory of another devoured book and a craving for next. Hope it's soon, really soon!

What has happened to Patricia Cornwell? Her latest offering, while technically as precise as ever, is a rehash of the angst the main characters have suffered in previous novels. Her characters are in danger of becoming caricatures of themselves.I agree with others that the ending was a little too neat and quick. In fact, the main thrust of the plot was setting up the meeting with Talley, turning what could have been an excellent Scarpetta novel into a tepid bodice ripper.

Once again, I have read Scarpetta's diaries and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is true that the ending is very quick...blunt...but maybe this is just a twist Cornwell intentionally invented for this novel. As always I am anxious for the next. And Talley really put the heat on for me too! There's no way the next novel won't open with his magnificient appearance!

The latest offering from Cornwell is fast paced as her previous novels. This new novel shows that Cornwell has reached a new plateau with her writing, characters and possibly herself. In this novel alot of emotion is emitted regarding Bentons death, and Lucy's past. I feel the book was a good read, but have to agree with other readers on the short ending. I don't know if Cornwell had a time limit or didn't know how to end it. Still, Cornwell is my favourite writer.

I have been a fan of Patricia Cornwell since she came out with her first Scarpetta novels. I must say this is the first time I am a little upset with one of her books, the story and characters are great upto about 3/4 of the book, then for some reason she just ties it up. Boom, thank you very much see ya next time... I don't know if she had a time limit on finishing the book, but I felt cheated at the end of reading Black notice.

I'm not sure why I keep coming back to these books. Benton is killed off in the last book and he was one of the few characters I liked. Kay Scarpetta anguishes over family, career, love life and weather throughout. One small credit, the plot line and the villain are interesting. She tries to tie up everything too quickly at the end. Maybe she ran out of memory on her word processor. Better than Burnt Offerings.
