An Epic of Two Worlds

Now the barrier has been breached, and the New World is again beset by their evil power.

War and treachery plague the world, and only Richard and Kahlan can save it from an armageddon of unimaginable savagery and destruction.

I have read all of this series by Terry Goodkind and find them to be a nice way to escape and relax. I've read a lot of books and yes i will agree that a lot of fanatasy's have gone with the cliche of poor person finding unknown power. however even though this is a fantasy book i find that there are morals and relevances to our everyday lives.
The first is simply this that even though you may not be rich and famous you can still become great as long as you work hard. Never give up and let other share your load, plus trust others and rely on their experience as well as words of wisdom. I wold recommend this books to anyone who loves to place them selves in what they read there are amazing roles and these book really help to relax and put you in a place where all else is forgotten. I would recommend this series to anyone who loves the thrills of a good medival/ modern fanatasy read.

From someone who has read a good deal of fantasy, I was disappointed in this series...I read the first 3, then decided not to go further.
    - Good vs Evil
    - a peasant grows up to find they have magical abilities etc..
...sigh, canned fantasy cliche after cliche...there is nothing new or original here. Someone looking for a fantasy epic would do better to try Tolkien, Brooks, Jordan (the first few anyway), or better yet, some Canadians like Guy Gavriel Kay, or Steven Erickson...then you'll see a little bit more intelligence in a fantasy novel...that being said though, these do move along pretty good, I did read 3 of them before discarding this series after all :-)...but it's just that it's stuff that I've read before, and it's been done better.

Halfway through this book that I bought 2 days ago, and I love it. Goodkind has not let me down so far in this series as to inventiveness and creativity, and this book certainly does not lack it either. I'll come back with a 5/5 when I'm done, I'm sure
