    An interesting twist on Vampires...

    I’ll admit I was a bit worried when these books arrived and I saw the Disney logo on the spine. I was looking for a light read, but perhaps not that light... Although they contained the obligatory repetition of facts in case you don’t remember the previous book, they didn’t prove to be too juvenile in the overall writing or story. This series presents an interest twist on the vampire concept, and although there is a certain focus on the fashion-filled lives of upper class New York the story has enough action to keep the pages turning and offers a bit more than just fluff. There are some inconsistencies in characters that I’ve had difficulty reconciling; the human and vampire personas of certain characters don’t seem to line-up, but perhaps that was on purpose to show the differences between the two worlds. I did find that the third book lagged a bit compared to the first two, however it ended with enough bang that I definitely plan on reading the next book.
