I did find this book to be interesting but not all that funny. I was surprised that I never laughed out loud at this book considering Tina Fey is so funny. I have heard that the audio book is much better because she is delivering her jokes and they are not just lying flat on the page.

I have to say, I really wanted to buy, read and love this book. In the end, I got the audio book and to the people who aren't getting a laugh out of it, you have to read it in Tina's voice. Her delivery is fantastic and I can imagine if I were reading the book - it would be kinda dry. Loving the audiobook though.

I wanted to like this book. No, I wanted to love this book. I read so many great reviews on it and people were saying it was so hilarious. I was 46 on the waiting list for Bossypants at the library. Eventually I just bought the book myself because I wanted to laugh. I wanted to be that person on an airplane who is laughing hysterically. I was not that person. Maybe it’s because I had only seen Tina Fey in skits on Saturday Night Live. I heard of 30 Rock but hadn’t watched the show. Right from the start I realized that I shouldn’t have bought the book. Yes, there were parts that were funny, but only mildly so. I found myself forcing my way through the pages waiting for it to end. Don’t get me wrong, Tina Fey is a great writer and it was interesting to read how she got her start on SNL and 30 Rock, but this book just wasn’t for me. If you really want to read Bossypants, I would suggest giving the audio version a try. Maybe I read the whole thing wrong. It’s all in the delivery, you know.

I love 30 Rock but I dont want to read about it. It was funny however she spent too much time talking about her career.

This book made me laugh multiple times with every couple of pages. The way Tina Fey portrayed her story was amazing. She really knows how to tie in comedy with the seriousness of her life story. I like when a writer can grab my attention in the first few sentences of the book. Tina Fey did just that. After hearing so many recommendations from many of my friends about this book I just had to give it a read. I do not regret reading this book! In fact I would recommend this book to everyone. It really gets you thinking and laughing, even at things you never thought was funny. I am not an avid reader, however this book is one that you cannot skip out on. This book is perfect for those who are looking for a good laugh combined with a great story. Good job Tina Fey! I really enjoyed your book and I hope to see more publications from you in the future. I was expecting a more personal book and hoped for her witty personality to shine through but was a little disappointed to read so much about her career jobs and sketches from her professional work. I did not perhaps read into what the aim of the book was. Soon to become a new mum myself i was interested in her experiences of becoming a mother and how it changed her life but was disappointed to read this event in little detail. I did find it interesting her history in how she got into the acting profession. But if i am honest i started skipping pages of the 30 rock sketches as i was more interested in her life story than appreciating scene descriptions and then found i had lost interest so did not complete the last quarter of the book.

I like Tina Fey. I think she’s funny and smart, and super cool. I love her ability to make fun of herself and not care what people think. I’m glad that I read Bossypants because of these reasons. Her personality really shone through in her writing. Having said that, I don’t think that everything in her book was necessary. There were a few yawn inducing moments. Moments that I did not particularly care to read about. Let’s face it, sometimes people don’t have very interesting lives. Do I think Tina should have written a book about hers? Not really. I think she would make an excellent fiction writer though.

Tiny Fey is a funny person, so it's not surprising that her written work reflects her personality. However, I feel like parts of the book dragged on (such as her experience working on SNL). I expected the book to be different.

Dear Tina Thank you so much for helping me through a painfully long wait for the Go Bus (Have had Melanoma so standing in the hot sun for over an hour is the definition of hell) After laughing my ass off for over an hour I barely even noticed the bus was late. While reading I was impressed with how you seem to be just a down to earth, intelligent, honest and extremely funny women. (either that or you are just extremely talented at faking it) Your chapter on breastfeeding was beautifully written and really hit the nail on the head and expressed how I felt. I totally snorted out loud when you mentioned the "tit nazis" as I also had similar experiences with those horrendous women, who I had nicknamed "breast nazi's." (Hmm, I think I came up with it first, can I sue you or something -- I really could use some new floors) You also wonderfully expressed my feelings about the battle between working moms and stay at home moms with your quote "I think we should be kind to one another about it, I think we should agree to blame the children." Honestly, it isn't our place to judge, lets just support each other and work together to raise the next generation. A happy mother is a good mother in my opinion, and I believe your child will not end up like so many children of celebrities because you love what you do and because of your values and beliefs. Now down to the real reason I have now become your fan -- you don't drive. Now I have a retaliation for every time someone mentions my lack of a drivers license. Now I can just say -- hey Tina Fey doesn't drive and look how cool she is. I have to be honest I have never seen an episode of 30 Rock but you can bet your ass after reading your "memoir" that I will be picking up a full set of the DVD's this weekend. What a funny read! I adore this woman and knowing her background and back stories really add dimension to the Tiny Fey on the TV screen. Hilarious book - was hard to put down!
