by Kevin Malarkey,

Tyndale House Publishers | June 28, 2011 | Trade Paperback

In 2004, Kevin Malarkey and his six-year-old son, Alex, suffered an horrific car accident. The impact from the crash paralyzed Alex-and medically speaking, it was unlikely that he could survive. I think Alex has gone to be with Jesus, a friend told the stricken dad. But two months later, Alex awoke from a coma with an incredible story to share. Of events at the accident scene and in the hospital while he was unconscious. Of the angels that took him through the gates of heaven itself. Of the unearthly music that sounded just terrible to a six-year-old. And, most amazing of all . . . Of meeting and talking to Jesus. The Boy Who Came Back from Heaven is the true story of an ordinary boys most extraordinary journey. As you see heaven and earth through Alexs eyes, youll come away with new insights on miracles, life beyond this world, and the power of a fathers love.

"The boy who came back from heaven" is the true story of Alex Malarkey who suffered a horrific car accident in 2004. Alex died at the crash but was revived and in a coma for over 2 months. His father, Kevin, writes this remarkable story with honesty, gut-wrenching emotion, and with a most extraordinary twist.
When six year old Alex awoke from the coma he began to share an incredible story. He begins to tell about the angels that took him into the gates of heaven. The reader begins to see heaven and earth through Alex's eyes and words.
Alex talks about being held by Jesus, he gives startling accounts of watching the medical procedures with Jesus, and how angels are involved in our day to day lives. There is a startling consistency to his accounts and Alex states that there are some things "I'm not allowed to tell you". This story is filled with trials, struggles and inspirational moments. Alex's faith, even though he is a quadriplegic, is astounding and moving.
Kevin writes "the years following Alex's return to our home, then, were about endings and beginnings - it was the end of Alex's coma and our dependence on the hospital. But it was also the beginning to a new and challenging kind of family life. Even more than this, it felt like the beginning of our awareness of another world, the powerful reality that continues to permeate our son's life."
This is a story of one family, their tragic moments, their struggles, the ups and downs, and the prayer of God's people and splashes of the glory of heaven that continues to touch many lives.
"You may be intrigued. You may be skeptical. You may be hungry to know more about what lies beyond life on earth." In the words of Alex when he was 6 years old, "God is amazing. I'm just a kid." This book points the reader to a God who loves them.

AMAZING READ This book amazed me. I thought that I would cry just reading a child tell about a horrible ordeal that he had been through. It was the work of our Lord through him that touched me the most. God is Good, he is Great.... This book was so well written. I read it in three days. I highly recomend this book to everyone.
