Meet Emma Corrigan, a young woman with a huge heart, an irrepressible spirit, and a few little secrets: Secrets from her boyfriend: I’ve always thought Connor looks a bit like Ken. As in Barbie and Ken. Secrets from her mother: I lost my virginity in the spare bedroom with Danny Nussbaum while Mum and Dad were downstairs watching Ben-Hur. Secrets she wouldn’t share with anyone in the world: I have no idea what NATO stands for. Or even what it is. Until she spills them all to a handsome stranger on a plane. At least, she thought he was a stranger.…Until Emma comes face-to-face with Jack Harper, the company’s elusive CEO, a man who knows every single humiliating detail about her...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great read I just started reading her books, my daughter turned me onto them loved it

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Another Great Read!! I love Sohpie Kinsella. I've read all the shopaholic books and various other novels she has written (Remember Me?). This book was another great read. Not my personal favorite but I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you've read other Kinsella books, then this one won't dissappoint. If you are new to the Kinsella line try "Remember Me?" first before reading this one!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good, but not Sophie Kinsella's best Was not quite as entertaining as The Undomestic Goddess or I've Got Your Number, but interesting story with an excellent ending. I found it was a bit dry near the beginning but definetaly worth reading!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Read Definitely one of Kinsella's best. Love the drama of this book and the wondering if he will drop her secrets all throughout their romance. Definitely Something i would recommend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Hilarious I’m not a fan of Sophie Kinsella, but this book really surprised me. I am so glad I picked this up. It was such a clever, and funny, and very loveable book. The characters are so wonderful, and there is never a dull bit. On a side note, I must say that I absolutely hate the cover. I find it very unattractive, and old looking. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover, right? But maybe that’s why I didn’t pick it up earlier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I ♥ IT this book is pretty amazing, because it doesn't have to many "heavy" words. The story is also thrilling, when Jack Harper turned out to be one of the founder of a corporation, and also turned out to be Emma Corrigan's boyfriend. it's a classic story of love, comedy and forgiveness, but i was very disappointed when i found out that it doesn't have a second book. Sophie Kinsella is a definitely a natural writer. keep it up!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Really cute, a romantic comedy on paper. I was laughing out loud from beginning to end. Light and fluffy with a happy ending, it was one of the best 'chick-lit' books I've read.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic I'm a university student so I decided to get this for my 2 hour drive home for Christmas. It was great. The time just flew by. The reading was great and the story made me laugh, a lot. It was so good I continued to listen to it while driving around town, it was just like a novel only instead of not being able to put it down, I couldn't stop listening, I was actually looking forward to driving.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it This is one of the first books I read by Sophie Kinsella. I loved it and have been addicted to her novels ever since. Can You Keep a Secret? is one of my favourite books, I found myself laughing out loud at some of the situations Emma Corrigan got herself in. Everyone has secrets but revealing them accidentally to the CEO of the company that you work for is not the best thing. This book is a must read.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favourite Kinsella Book This is what chick-lit is supposed to be. Kinsella creates a winning heroine in Emma who finds herself in situations readers can relate to while at the same time hopes they will never find themselves in. When I finished the book I was smiling, and was sad I had finished. I immediately recommended the book to a few of my friends who also loved it. Classic Kinsella.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Book I've Read in a While. "Can You Keep a Secret?" is hands down the best book I've read in what seems like months. I am not a "Shopaholic" reader, so there will be no comparasions between the two (as there are in many of the previous reviews for this book). I have, however, read other Kinsella works. I've been more than pleased with both of the others I have read ("Remember Me?" and "The Gatecrasher", under the name Madeline Wickam), but "Can You Keep a Secret?" really stood out. The plotline itself is quite different. A woman spills her secrets to a stranger on a plane when she begins to believe she is dying. Later it is found that said 'stranger' is actually the CEO of the company she works for. The novel revolves around love, two-way relationships, and secrets kept and told. However, don't let the seemingly simple plotline turn you off! Kinsella, with her fabulous timing, throws in many twists and turns that keep you from the very first page. I was instantly captivated by Kinsella's writing, which has the immediate power to make you laugh out loud, cry, and fall in love with the characters (namely, Jack). Kinsella writes dialogue masterfully and witty as all get out! You KNOW the characters, you KNOW what they're really saying, you KNOW how they're really feeling, just from their dialogue. "Can You Keep a Secret?" is one of those books that make you wish it never ended. I stand by Kinsella's writing style and story creativity. I have yet to be disappointed, and am doubtful I will ever be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my Favourites! This is on of my favourites by Sophie Kinsella because its funny, surprising and I could read it over again and again. Out of all her books I think this is my favourite apart from the Shopalcholic series which was also good

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Can You Keep a Secret?? It was this book that first got me hooked on Sophie Kinsella's writing. This book is funny and easy to follow along with - a great piece of chick lit! After reading this, you will most definitely read all of Kinsella's novels

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Can You Keep A Secret? This book was about a woman named Emma. When she's nervous, she tends to talk too much. While on a plane coming back from a business trip, there was major turbulance, and she starts telling the man next to her every little secret and detail of her life by accident and also of how much she screwed up her business pitch that day. Emma is moritfied, but she believes that she will never see the man again, so she starts to relax after. Suddenly, turns out that the man sitting beside her is in fact the CEO of the company that she works for, and he is playfully blackmailing Emma to do things, otherwise he will tell her secrets. They start to develop a relationship, but Emma is still worried and unsure if he can really keep all her secrets no matter what..... I really liked this book, it was addicting and I kept wanting to find out what would happen next. Filled with romance and secrets and surprises :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun Read Another entertaining chicklit read by Sophie Kinsella. The main character is a young woman in her twenties who is trying to deal with things we all deal with: parents, career, self-image, relationships, fears, etc. She spills all her secrets to a stranger she sits beside on a plane. The 'stranger' then shows up at her office the next day and she discovers he is the CEO of the company she works for. In the process of dealing with this crisis she learns alot about herself and the people in her life. I have read most of Kinsella's novels and this is one of my favs. Definitely recommended for a fun, light read!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My Life, In 8 years It was like I was looking at my own life in a couple of years from now. her life sounds just like mine. it was easy to get into the charters state of mind, and fall in love with this book. another chick book that I couldn't help but laugh out loud.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not just an ordinary, nothing-special girl This was a hilarious and romantic book with a light-hearted British touch. Emma Corrigan reminds me in some ways of a young Bridget Jones in how she thinks, acts and feels. No matter how hard she tries and how close she comes to finding happiness and success on a personal and professional level, there is another anticipated disaster on its way. She pretends to love jazz, wearing g-strings and calling her boyfriend Connor a pet name, darling. Obviously one little lie builds upon another but it’s far better than facing reality. After enduring a traumatic plane ride and divulging all her insecurities and secrets to a complete stranger, many realizations happen and there’s no need for anymore skeletons in her closet, maybe just a Miu Miu pony bag.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Starts out slow and then bang! After finishing the Shopaholic series, I was slightly disappointed that I wouldn't be reading about Becky and her crazy adventures, but after chapter 5, the story really takes off. Everyone has at least one secret that you wouldn't want your friends/family/coworkers to know. What would you do if they all knew?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from laugh out loud book I really enjoyed this book - very light read - very easy read - laughed out loud....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can You Keep A Secret? This book was amazing, I love the whole plot, and when Jack came back for her at the end! it was amazing! I loved this book, and i'm only 14 years old, I would recommed this book to anyone who enjoys romantic books.
Date published: 2008-07-17
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Favorite! I've never been put on an emotional rollercoaster by a book, until I read this one! Even after finishing the book I still think back about the events because many of the emotions Emma was feeling hit home. If you're a hopeless romantic, you've gotta read this one! Probably my favorite by far of all the Sophie Kinsella books!
Date published: 2008-07-17
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ho Hum Judging by the amount of reviews out there, I'm definitely outnumbered, but here it is: when the "Shopaholic" series came out, I enjoyed reading them. After all, how many naive airheads do you know! By the 4th book in the series, it was getting old and predictable. I was hoping this book would veer away from that type of idiocy. The novel did start out okay, but then it went downhill from there. Sorry :(

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I'm embarrassed and amused A co-worker loaned this book to me after I passed on Remember Me. Gotta say that I actually enjoyed this one, and chuckled a few times. There's a clear formula to Kinsella's stories, but one that I am willing to endure for the amusement factor. Plus it's pink.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Harmless fluff... I was a big fan of Sophie Kinsella's book, Confessions of a Shopaholic. I just found the book funnier than hell. Sadly, I didn't have the same experience with Can You Keep a Secret? Emma Corrigan is on a flight from Glasgow to London when the plane experiences some frightening turbulence. She turns to her seat-mate and divulges every single secret she has kept for the last twenty-something years. "I have no idea what NATO stands for. My G-string is hurting me. I weight 128 pounds. Not 118, like my boyfriend Connor, thinks." As it turns out, the guy sitting next to her - Jack - is the American head of the company Emma works for. Of course, she doesn't know that because she's new to the company and Jack hasn't been to the UK since his business partner died. What follows is a pretty predictable, though harmless enough, tale of Emma and Jack and how divulging her secrets changes her life in ways that are mostly good. It's fluff, people.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Read it the second time and still love it This book was reccomended to me and once I read the first page I was hooked. It makes you laugh, it makes you cry, it's perfect. I've already passed it on to several of my friends and didn't even need to force them into it, they all loved it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Awesome Book I was hooked on this book from the word go, I just couldn't put it down. Sophie Kinsella has always been one of my favorite authors and this book is just another of hers that solidifies that thought. From the moment we are introduced to Emma I felt as if i had known her for a long time, it felt like I was there with her as all these embarassing moments took place. By the end of the book I was hoping the last page would never come and that we would continue to look in on Emma's life with Jack. All the chracters are well written and I felt as if I too had known them. This is definitely a book I would recommend to anyone that wants a fun read (warning you will laugh out loud).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Practically a movie script ready to go! If you (like me) hate chick lit with the core of your being -- don't let this pink cover fool you into thinking this is just another one of those girly, mindless novels. This book is funny, sweet, smart and totally one of those books I'm gunna keep re-reading forever. Loooooooooooooved it! You will too!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Hilarious!! Can You Keep a Secret? Emma Corrigan is a simple girl who thinks she has a good life, until she goes on a trip for work and gets plane sick. While hyperventilating, Emma decides to spill her lifelong secrets to someone whom she thought was a stranger, because she thinks she is going to die. This is a funny book about what happens when someone you know, knows all your secrets. Sophie Kinsella is also the bestselling author of the popular “Shopaholic” series. Can you keep a secret, has everything from heart-wrenching romance to table-pounding laughter all put into this fabulous book. Alyssa

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kudos to Sophie Kinsella Another great read from a gifted writer. I've enjoyed every one of the Shopaholic series and loved this new character just as much. So interesting and entertaining I had a hard time turning out the light and putting it down. Can't wait for her next novel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it! This book was fabulous. I was laughing out loud one minute and getting teary-eyed the next. It's a great read, but you'll fly through it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hilarity This book is hilarious and I loved the little subtle nuances and how descriptive Kinsella is. It's great for a visual person like me. And as one reviewer said she has great comic timing. Bravo! Can't wait to start the Shopaholic series!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved It I was hesitant to try a new type of book. I've never done 'chick' before and thought I would give it a try. And thinking I would go to the extreme and buy a book that's also pink, as to make it the ultimate girls book. As I was flipping pages I couldn't help but to laugh. I thought it brilliant and a good start to going chick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome This book was her best so far. Honestly, I was laughing on the bus and people were looking at me. I just couldn't help it. It is so funny. This book is a must read.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fun at first then a quick NO NO! This book was pretty fun at first I enjoyed it but a couple chapters later goes down the hill FAST. Got very boring, and it had no story or plot whatsoever. Sorry sophie your books rock but for this one, try again!
Date published: 2006-09-21
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I loved it I personally loved this book, all the misshaps that happen to emma, and that she goes though, are semi-realistic, if some of us where that lucky it would be amazing! The book is amazing, i and i loved it alot, i read it over and over again. It makes you cry, laugh and just think about everything!
Date published: 2006-09-11
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Goes Down Hill Fast This book starts out great, with a good story and a very likeable lead character. However, it quickly dissolves into a foolish, unrealistic mess. It ended up being very disappointing. If you like Something Borrowed and Something Blue then avoid this book like the plague! I give it credit for a lovely main character, but what the author does to her is just wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Read I loved reading this book. Sophie Kinsella is a great writer and I wasn't able to put this book down. I highly recommend it to everyone. A must read.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Funny I have read all the shopaholic series and wondered if I would enjoy this book as well. Sophie Kinsella does not disappoint. This book was funny, and with all the crazy mishap that Emma goes through, it keeps you wanting to turn the pages and wondering what's going to happen next. It is a great week-end book.
Date published: 2006-07-29
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Too cute (in a good way) I just loved this book and can imagine how mortified the main heroine was to find out just who it was that she blabbed all her secrets to. This was such a cute book. This character is every girl plodding away at a job that she is way out of her depth in. (Been there, done that) Everygirl who has made multislacking a fine art will love this book. Everygirl who drinks too many lattes and eats too many sweets will see herself in this book. Everygirl who has made a fool of herself for a man and had some dismal, howling career failures (stuff you can laugh at later but, at the time, jeeze louise!) will laugh and recognize this book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Too Funny This book was absolutely hilarious! A great story that kept me laughing from start to finish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Laugh Out Loud I could NOT put this book down. Neither could I stop raving about it and recommending it to every one of my friends. Emma Corrigan is a character everyone can relate to. Her hijinks and shennanigans had me grinning and laughing out loud more that once. I was sad to see it end.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Great Read by Kinsella! This was another hit for Sophie Kinsella! This book was an easy read, perfect for those summer days, lying in the sun! Although this book was kind of predictable, it was an enjoyable read. As much fun as Kinsella's other books!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolute Wonderful Read!!! My life has been on hold for the past couple of days apart from working of course!!! I have been unable to put this book down. It was fabulous!!! Emma is hilarious and the way she thinks just kept me in hysterics the whole way through the book. It was such a good story and it keeps you hanging on the whole way through...not a single boring page. Sophie Kinsella hasn't dissapointed me yet...I loved Undomestic Goddess and this one was absolutely just as good!! I would totally recommend this book for anyone that wants some romance and humour rolled into one!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Add this one to your favorites list!" A "Shopaholic" fan, I thought I'd give this book a try - and actually loved it alot more than the other series. If you're looking for a book to make you laugh-out-loud, this is it! I found Emma someone I could definitely relate to - and want to be friends with. She'll make you cringe with her blunders, and root for her all the way - in life and love. You'll definitely smile the whole way through!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hilarious!!!! This book kept me laughing out load for 3 days! It is one of the funnist books that I have read in years and many things in it ring true in the ordinary life of a female. Kinsella strikes again with this fantastic display of honesty, humor, and romance that will keep you turning the pages until the end.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from "Absolutely Fabulous Better Then Shopoholic" I was very hesitant to read this book because I thought it would be to similar to the author’s four ‘Shopaholic’ books, but I was very wrong. This book although written in the same sort of style is very different from those books. It’s geared towards women of all ages from teenagers to the elderly and the humour in this book is funny at any age. This is one of the best books that I’ve ever read. The main character Emma is hilarious and so memorable I really hope that Sophie Kinsella decides to write a follow up book. If you loved her other books I have no doubt that you will fall in love with this book as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Laugh till you cry!!" Can you keep a secret? is by far the best book that Sophie Kinsella has written. This book brought tears to my eyes........because I was laughing so hard!!!!!!!!!! I wasn't a big fan of the shopoholic series so I was a little wary when my friend told me to read this book. Well, I can't thank her enough. Girls, if you are ever in the mood to laugh I strongly suggest you pick up this book. My sister who is not a big reader, was enticed to read it after she heard me laughing my head off and she was not dissapointed. After reading the DaVinci Code, I needed a light read and this book far exceeded my expectations. Readers will fall in love with Emma and enjoy all her quirkiness!! I recommend this book to anyone who needs a good laugh!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Funny and light I had several chuckles reading this one on the train. The main character is a bit bridget-jones'ish, but the story is unique. Definitely worth picking up if you like this kind of novel - innocent british girl, naive, gets into trouble, very lovable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Beyond Belief This is one of the best books I have ever read, light hearted and funny. It is an absolute page turner, you'll get hooked right away. The story is very interesting, and it will never gets dull.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Secret-aholic I'm so glad Kinsella has gotten onto writing more stories than the Shopaholic series. I loved the first Shopaholic... but felt the other books were just bad repeats. But Can You Keep a Secret was amazing... The characters were lovable... this is the perfect chic-lit novel for a quick read...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth a look... In this novel, Sophie Kinsella manages to create a funny (although not intentionally), down-to-earth, relatable main character. This book is a nice break from the Hamlets of the world, and is fun, easy reading. This novel is highly enjoyable and is definitely worth a look if you're searching for a great light read.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from makes a good door-stop Unoriginal, sloppy, predictable fluff. Wanna know a secret? Sophie Kinsella is not English. Ha! So why does her bio lead one to believe she is? Cashing in on formulaic Brit-chick-lit (insert rhyming expletive here) d'ya think? I'd call this more chicken-lit: cowardly, bland and in need of a good neck-wringing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best one yet I feel this is Kinsella's best book yet. Emma Corrigan is not as much of a ditz as Becky Bloomwood is and I feel that makes me less annoyed with the situations she gets into. I am also wishing for a sequel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It won't disappoint you I picked it up at Chapters I was recommended by I friend to read Confession of a Shopaholic but I end up buying this inside and I wasn't disappointed we main characther of the book,Emma, was rally someone everyone can relate to with different misunderstanding is what made the book great and made me so touch I cried.Mostly Recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Need to have a laugh? Buy this book! I just finished reading this book and reccomend it to others. It was a lot of fun and I think all women could see a little bit of themselves in the female characters of this story. I bought the book because I thoroughly enjoy English humor and the author did not disappoint. It was worth every penny and I will read it again. I can't wait to read my next Sophie Kinsella book. Enjoy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Funny I think this is Sophie Kinsella's best book yet. I love the shopaholic series but this one I just could not put down. Emma Corrigan's character was so funny and you just didn't know what was going to happen to her next. If you like Becky, you'll love Emma. I hope there's a sequel to this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Totally absorbed This is the best book ever!! Besides the fact that i'm already obssessed with Sophie Kinsella's writing (and London), this book is probably the only book (besides the shopaholic series and the Undomestic Goddess) that i couldn't put down. Emma Corrigan is a character that probably everyone can relate. Everyone has secrets and everyone has people they absolutely can't stand. Kinsella captures the reader's attention once they open the book.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Extremely funny... can't stop turning the pages! Sophie Kinsella really brings excitement to readers with this book. Picture this: you're on a plane and you spill your secrets to a stranger, and come to find out he's the owner of a giant corporation you work for! Scary, right? Well, Emma Corrigan is the very girl who does this. The worst part is, this guy is visiting her work place for awhile, and all she wants to do is hide.... but not forever, just until she realizes something that changes her whole life....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from OK This was a good book (I read it in one weekend), but was highly disapointed that the story was so much like the shopaholic stories, and the characters were basically the same - just different names, jobs, etc.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not up to par compared to her other books This is my least favorite book from Sophie Kinsella, It is still a good read, but I had a hard time keep reading it... I felt the character was too similar to the others from Shopaholic series. Still a good buy, but not her best work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXCELLENT A great read by Sophie Kinsella. I hope that she makes a series out of this one too. Despite what others on this website have written about this book, it is NOT apart of the Shopaholic series. Regardless, it is a hilarious book that I hope gets made into a movie. I hope that The Shopaholic series is as good as this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I dont want to say its better than shopaholic.... The fact is, this book is one of my favourites by Kinsella. I found that the main character Emma Corrigan was so delightful. All the characters in this book were great, but you really found that your heart fell when Emma was going through something tough, and spark back up again when amends were made. The emotions you go through are unbelievable, and you wont be able to put it down. You wont be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent read!!! The book was truly amazing. It has all the ingredients of a good read. I loved all the characters in this novel... they were all so real... I mean c'mon, we all have little secrets like that.... The only problem that I saw was with the description of the characters. Kinsella never actually gave a vivid image of the characters except for Emma's boyfriend Connor and Jack's bodyguard Sven, who were both no so significant. She could have done a better job with Jack (the main guy) at least... all I got of him was that he was - REALLY HANDSOME, AMERICAN, HAD DARK EYES... The same about Emma or any other of the characters... we know what they are like in person... but what do they look like... at least I'd like to know. Recommendation: Just in case you want to have as good a read, try Asking for trouble by Liz Young --> ChicLit, gr8 read

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it! This was a great fun read....if you're looking to relax and laugh a little, this is a book you won't put down. The author has a knack for identifying situations to which many women can relate. She was able to break out of the formulaic writing that she displayed in the shopaholic series. Worth buying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful I absolutely LOVED this book! It was so good I litterly could not put it down. I think that Sophia Kinsella is a wonderful writer and she has a great sense of humour and everything she puts in her books are true. It is a very exciting and keeps making you want more. Being a teenager I think that this book was able to give some advice and everything in those events in the book can happen, it's a wonderful book for both teens and adults.I can't WAIT till her new book The Undomestic Goddess comes out!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not enjoy it This book was pure and utter fluff. While I know these books follow a general formula, this one was unbearably contrived. The characters were flat and the story was absurd in parts. What a disappointment! I loved the first Shopaholic book, and thought the second one was okay, but at this point, I wish they'd stop printing Sophie Kinsella's work. It's just regurgitated characters and plots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of Kinsella's BEST! If you're a chick lit fan and loved the Shopaholic series, you will love this novel. I was a bit weary because I thought it would be hard for Kinsella to come up with new ideas, but this book was hilarious. The character is similar to the Shopaholic, but the storyline is hilarious and refreshing. A must read!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Guilty Pleasure! I picked up this book 4 hours ago and from the moment I started reading, I could NOT put it down - trust me, it's 530am and I am still re-reading some of my favourite pages!! I loved the heroine, Emma who is essentially a little bit of all of us - average-every-day-kinda-girl who finally finds her self and real love. Sounds like a perfect fairy tale come true to me! An EXCELLENT read for any woman who believes there's always something better, something bigger and something more for all of us and believes she really can have it! *********

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One Of The Best Books I've Ever Read Oh my god!!!! I couldn't put this book down, I wanted to be Emma, she is such a real character that you can relate to. Throughout the book I was laughing out loud at all the funny things she got herself into and then almost crying at the end. All I wanted was for Emma to get Jack, and I wanted to kill Jemima!!!!!!! But seriously this is a must read, I've read the Shopaholic books and no offense but this one is much better. I swear, if there isn't a second book, I don't know what I'll do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING! This was an absoultly fantasic book; I feel in love with Jack, annoyed by Conner and Emma became a life long friend. I'm not an avid reader and rarely finish a book; I found it impossible to put this book down! I read it in less that two days, I carried it everywhere I went. I felt like it was real, not a novel written by some stranger. I can hardly wait to buy another book by Kinsella.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even Better Than The Shopaholic Books! I loved the Shopaholic books and bought this book wondering if Kinsella could do it again. She sure can! I finished this book in 3 days! I was worried the book would be too much like the shopaholic books. However, this book is orginal and fresh with Kinsella leaving her mark on it along with a little Becky Bloomwood! Very funny, I laughed out loud at least a half dozen times. Can You Keep A Secret? , along with Shopaholic books are going to be movies. It pains me to say this, but I found this book to be even better than the shopaholic books. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Astonishing Sophie Kinsella has once again proven her ability to shine as an author. With a witty ambience, I found myself laughing hysterically every five seconds. Kinsella really opens the heart and extracts the better part of life out of it. She also directs a lot of attention the not-so-brighter sides of life and conveys to the reader that they're not the only one in the world who feels the same way as Emma Corrigan. I absolutely loved the novel. Although I found Jack's motives quite cynical and unforgiving, the ending to the novel was complete and heart-tugging. It just goes to show that people do make mistakes and are willing to rectify them. Sophie Kinsella's talent is absolutely astounding and I was in tears when I finished her Shopaholic series. I don't think I've been so happy and intrigued in the duration of three days I read the novel. I loved it. Her characters are realistic and unforgettable. Even though the novel was a fiction, I personally believe that the author gave life to the character with such spark and panache that I almost felt as if I was actually there - watching the whole process unfold. I really hope I can meet Sophie Kinsella one day - she's a role model for me! The only disappointement was when I had to close the novel. I tried to read as slowly as possible and disregarded the pages I had left, but I couldn't help myself. I just had to find out what happened. I really admire Sophie Kinsella's style of writing as it accentuates the realism of life and the fact that ordeals and embarrassments do occur, but they can be reconciled. Again, I recommend this novel to everyone - especially those who are in for a real laugh and adventure. It's the best novel I've ever read. I hate to say this but I liked it more than Shopaholic EVEN THOUGH I loved those novels as well. I just didn't want to finish this novel because I didn't want the euphoria to end. I really didn't. I'm going to read it again but the first experience is always the best. In Kinsella's case however, I'm pretty sure I'll laugh all over again. Personally, I can't keep a secret if it comes down to celebrating the jubilation and humour that arises from this novel.

Chapter One Of course I have secrets. Of course I do. Everyone has a few secrets. It’s completely normal. I’m not talking about big, earth-shattering secrets. Not the-president-is planning-to-bomb-Japan-and-only-Will-Smith- can-save-the-world type secrets. Just normal, everyday little secrets. Like, for example, here are a few random secrets of mine, off the top of my head:  1.My Kate Spade bag is a fake.  2.I love sweet sherry, the least cool drink in the universe.  3.I have no idea what NATO stands for. Or even exactly what it is.  4.I weigh 128 pounds. Not 118, like my boyfriend, Connor, thinks. (Although, in my defense, I was planning to go on a diet when I told him that. And, to be fair, it is only one number different.)  5.I’ve always thought Connor looks a bit like Ken. As in Barbie and Ken.  6.Sometimes, when we’re right in the middle of passionate sex, I suddenly want to laugh.  7.I lost my virginity in the spare bedroom with Danny Nussbaum while Mum and Dad were downstairs watching Ben-Hur.  8.I’ve already drunk the wine that Dad told me to save for twenty years.  9.Sammy the goldfish at home isn’t the same goldfish that Mum and Dad gave me to look after when they went to Egypt. 10.When my colleague Artemis really annoys me, I feed her plant orange juice. (Which is pretty much every day.) 11.I once had this weird lesbian dream about my flatmate Lissy. 12.My G-string is hurting me. 13.I&
