Carpe Corpus: The Morganville Vampires, Book 6

by Rachel Caine

Penguin Group USA, Inc | June 2, 2009 | Mass Market Paperbound

In the small college town of Morganville, vampires and humans lived in (relative) peace-until all the rules got rewritten when the evil vampire Bishop arrived, looking for the lost book of vampire secrets. He''s kept a death grip on the town ever since. Now an underground resistance is brewing, and in order to contain it, Bishop must go to even greater lengths. He vows to obliterate the town and all its inhabitants-the living and the undead. Claire Danvers and her friends are the only ones who stand in his way. But even if they defeat Bishop, will the vampires ever be content to go back to the old rules, after having such a taste of power?

I don't know what's left to say, once again this was another installment that did NOT disappoint...Page one right until the end has you grasping the books, leaving you never wanting to put them down. I absolutely love the characters along with the plot that just keeps getting better and better, again, this book was fast-paced and filled with non-stop action. This series has absolutely everything you could ask for; action, romance, mystery, revenge, Vampires (evil and good), bravery, strength, and characters that will do anything and everything for each other.
I defiantly recommend this series without a doubt, The only thing bad I'd have to say about this series is that is literally impossible to put the books down!!...well it's not that bad but still. :)
Once again, I'm left dieing to read the next book, which is now Fade Out!!!

Claire and Michael are working for Bishop, Eve's on the other side, and Shane's back in the cage, never a dull moment in Morganville. I highly recommend this series, it's very good. 30/1000

I really do enjoy this series but this book had me totally torn :(. I really loved the new "Development" with Claire's relationship, and think those parts are great. I also really enjoyed how they beat out Bishop...very clever. BUT....The vampire computer..hmm...that is a bit weird, and couldn't really get into that much. Especially since anyone who offered her blood seemed to get her to do what they wanted. I liked the twist about Jason, however felt Dean's character left me like HUH...So all and all, still love the series, and can't wait for the next installment, but defiantely not my favorite in the series.

    Another Kick-butt Edition

This is the sixth book in the Morganville Vampire series, and Claire finally turns 17! It's about time, is all I can say to that.

So Rachel Caine decides to change it up a bit in this novel. First off, this story doesn't start exactly where the last one finished. There is a small gap, but the time lost is quickly filled in with a few sentences or so.

Second, the book doesn't end on a giant cliffhanger. It leaves you with the feeling that more is to come, but after all the anxiety in this story Claire finally gets her break.

Third, and possibly most importantly, Claire makes a mistake. It's a potentially fatal mistake and I'm still not sure how she made it. Since this happens towards the end, I won't say too much about it, however I will say that she deserves a good smack for her stupidity. She figures out who the person is but can't seem to understand that the person is guilty. It's just not a mistake we expect from Claire.

This book is great from start to finish...

I finally got it to work also. I copied to words 2003 instead of 2007 and it worked.

thanks Rogey :) and PS i copied from Notepad and it kept the paragraph formatting - so it worked! as for the "no spoilers" well i can't wait to see if you catch her fatal error as it happens. I certainly did
