Carpe Demon

I don't usually read action books that include the heroine having kids. Kenner does a great job including demons, kids, action, mystery, and humour. Waiting anxiously for California Demon to hit the shelves.

My husband was looking at me funny because I was laughing out loud. I've read tons of supernatural series and sometimes it's hard to find something new and different. Well, this is it!!! Bravo, Julie, bravo!

After reading "The Givenchy Code' by Julie Kenner, I decided to check out some of her other offerings, and stumbled across this fantastic commuting book. I hesitate to label it as "Chick Lit", as it has a little too much "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" included to be overly fluffy. It was the perfect book to read on a lunch hour or on the streetcar to or from work, because it would provide a few chapters worth of amusement and distraction from the person screaming into the air beside me on the streetcar. The plot was entertaiing, and I loved the main character, as she was trying to juggle a 2 year old child, a teenage daughter, a workaholic husband and one more annoyance... demons everywhere she turns.

This is a fun read that I would recommend for the summer. I'd call it the "feel good demon-killing book of the year" :) I hope that you like it as much as I did.
