Chadwick's books are outstanding, and are sadly not that popular in Canada. I recommend them to anyone who loves historical fiction, as while she often has fictional bits (clearly characters must be created, or their thoughts/actions changed slightly) she strongly shows her devotion to the real events of history.
This book in particular was fantastic, dealing with the character Monday. After her mother dies, her father falls apart and treats her horribly. Her life events, which end up being a mistress to the King of England, leave you heartbroken for her, and marvelling at her internal strength to carry on. I loved her story, and wish there was more to read about her.
