Oh Cassandra Clare, how do I love thee? This is the second time I’ve read City of Glass, the third book in the Mortal Instruments series, and it was just as good as it was the first time I read it. Naturally, I went straight to the audiobook for my reread because it’s spring and there are so many things to be done around the house. Luckily, Natalie Moore’s narration is pretty good and the story still had me going, even if I already knew what was going to happen. In this book, Clary is still trying to save her mother, which means a trip to the City of Glass — even though Jace doesn’t want her there and Simon ends up being thrown into prison. The shadowhunters are still trying to go after Voldemort, Clary and Jace are still dealing with being siblings, but now everyone must try to work together — the downworlder’s with the shadowhunters. I think my favourite thing about Cassandra Clare’s books are the characters. I love Jace just a little more with each book I read (again, despite how snarky he may sound due to the narrator), and I even grow to like Clary, even though she can be a bit of a whiner. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again — Simon still gets on my nerves, but at least there are more likeable characters than unlikeable. Isabelle is just so charming, as is Alec, and Magnus. It was really nice to see all the characters working together in this book. The other wonderful thing about Cassandra Clare is her writing. She just never ceases to disappoint. Her world building is fantastic and if I could travel to any fictional world, hers would be one of the top ones on my list. Of course, I’d rather go there when Valentine isn’t there being the villain that he is (because he sure can do some nasty things), but it’s definitely tops. While I thought that City of Ashes dragged just a bit, City of Glass has to be my second favourite in the series. There is a ton of action, a ton of emotional stuff going on, and a lot of mystery and suspense. New characters are brought in who even had me second guessing myself — even though I had already read the book and should know most of what’s going on. That being said, there is a lot that goes on in Clare’s books … I found that listening to the audiobook made it slightly difficult since I couldn’t flip back in the pages for a recap when I would start listening each day. And I had been listening to/reading this for the second time. I can’t imagine how a newcomer would deal with listening to the audio. It’s one of those books where you have to give it your full attention. Just a last note on the audio version of this book: I loved Natalie Moore’s narration and I think she did a way better job than Ari Graynor who did the narration on the first book. Though, whenever I heard her voice for Valentine, I immediately thought of Kathleen Turner, when she’s on Friends playing Charles Bing. And, like I’ve mentioned before, she can make Jace sound just a little too snarky (and just a tad younger than I always envisioned him) and Clary whiny (even moreso than she comes across while reading the book). If there’s one author that you should be reading, it’s Cassandra Clare. She kicks butt when it comes to writing about the shadowhunters and their world is a wonderful one to explore.

I thought that City of Glass was better than City of Bones and City of Ashes. I know there is also City of Fallen Angels and City of Lost Souls, but I haven't gotten to that yet. City of Glass had plenty of romance, tons of action and enough drama to get me feeling emotional. In the end, I was very content with the conclusion. This book is amazing; this series is amazing ! I reccomend it to anyone who like fantasy, romance and action. I also love how Isabelle developed a character, and how the stunning Sebastian was introduced. Changes like these made the series seem more realistic and better. All in all; one of my favourite books for sure !

This is the last book of the trilogy The Mortal Instruments. Clary must go to the City of Glass in order to wake up her mother but Jace doesn't want her there. Clary will discover secrets that they were kept in dark for years.... but Jace is not willing to help her. Clary finds Sebastian who is too eager to help her but he is hiding something....... Love it, love it!!!!!!!!!!! It was a good closure for the story. I loved Alec in this one. At the previous books he was so into Jace and against Clary that kind of made me not like him but in this book you see him being more mature and willing to face his fears. In this book we see Isabelle being more emotional. We can see that behind the Shadowhunter gear she’s just a girl and even though she can handle everything (expect from cooking.. lol ) and be strong, she’s fragile just as she’s strong. Simon. Ok, I usually don't like a character who goes between a couple, and that's the case here, but I really liked him. In the previous books he was trying to win Clary over Jace but in this book he realises that he can have her only as a friend and that's what he does..... not like Jacob in Twilight.. (These books has nothing to do with Twilight but if you have read them you know what I mean by Jacob insisting that he was the one for Bella... huh!) Anyway that's one of the reasons that I love Simon, that he understands what Clary wants and steps aside to stand by her as a friend.... the other reason is that now he’s more involved in the story, he’s stronger now and ready to have some action and take responsibilities. Jace. What can I say about Jace. I can start from how much I love him!!!!!!!! :) He is very strong as a character and deep. You can see that behind his arrogant remarks, he’s just a boy struggling to find who he is and to get use to the idea that Clary is his sister. Clary. I wouldn't say that I loved her but I can say for sure that I liked her. She is strong, she’s all willing to jump in and help her friends..... Valentine. I didn't like him as being the bad guy.... The only part I actually felt same hatred towards him, would be at The City of Bones where he tells Clary and Jace that they are related. Other than that I didn't feel that he was the bad guy... I was close to liking him at the end and kind felt sorry for his ending. I think that's the only part I don't like form the books, that Valentine's character isn't developed enough and that his reasons for wanting to destroy the Shadowhunters aren't believable. Overall the book was good; my favorite though is the City of Ashes... more drama in it..... and I love good drama! One of the reasons that I love this trilogy is that combines humor, adventure, drama, love story.... pretty much everything but I loved it mostly because of the humor in it. It made me laugh so many times and I still do when I read the funny quotes. The author was able to put humor into serious conversations without stopping them for not being serious.... and that's really difficult to do.... and I loved it!!!!!!!!!

I really enjoyed reading this installment and found it much better than City of Ashes. There was lots of tension, action, twists and turns. Again, I found myself impressed with Cassandra Clare's writing and ability to create an interesting fantasy world within the real world. The world changes in this book as the characters travel to Idris, the City of Glass, which is outside the normal world - it was nice to have a change of setting and focus. I enjoyed the characters more in this book and am glad that the Clary/Jace story line took a turn as I didn't like their brother/sister storyline. Clary starts to grow into herself more in this book as she has had some time now to get used to being a Shadowhunter and her strengths are being more revealed and she acts more purposefully and less by accident. It is also nice to see Jace act like less of a jerk. Again, I found some of the more minor characters to be some of the most interesting, such as Alec, Magnus, Isabelle, and Simon. In fact, some of the best scenes for breaking the tension and adding humour were between Simon and Jace. This was supposed to be the final installment of the series, and it does tie up all of the loose ends, but Cassandra Clare has written more, with the City of Fallen Angels already out and more books planned - it will be interesting to see where things go from here.

This book was the best out of the three by far, but I loved all three from this series! I simply devoured this book in a day! This series was so well written that I couldn't help but wonder if Cassandra has somehow lived in this world that she has so descriptively written about! Can't wait to get City of Fallen Angels!!

i LOVE this book series. I could not put the book down. I would recommend this series not to just 12-17 year old but for anyone who likes fantasy. I cannot wait for the movies to hit theatres!

Absolutely love this series!!!! This was a perfect third novel to the series!!!

What an awesome read, easily the best book in the series so far. The war against Valentine comes to a climatic close, and we get answers about Jace and Clary's "relationship." Fast paced and full of excitement City of Glass is the perfect close to the epic battle. I highly recommend to anyone who is a fan of the genre.

Cassandra Clare continues to gain momentum in the Mortal Instruments series. Many of the mysteries that have been palguing readers since the start of the saga are answered in this edition and they are dealt with in such a manner that keeps the intrigue intact while satisfying the reader's desires. I continue to be fascinated with the characters and am looking forward to watching them develop even further now that their world has been forever altered. Bring on the next book, Cassandra!

I WAS PRAYING THAT THEY WEREN;T RELATED AND PRAYER HEARD. i was so happy this series is much much better than TWILIGHT any day at least it gets to the point and aint all about blood.
