Confessions Of A Shopaholic

by Sophie Kinsella

Recorded Books | April 30, 2005 | Audio Book (CD)

Rebecca Bloomwood just hit rock bottom. But she''s never looked better ...

Becky Bloomwood has a fabulous fiat in London''s trendiest neighborhood, a troupe of glamorous socialite friends, and a closet brimming with the seasons must-haves. The only trouble is that she can''t actually afford it -- not any of it.

Her job writing at Successful Savings not only bores her to tears, it doesn''t pay much at all. And lately Becky''s been chased by dismal letters from Visa and the Endwick Bank -- letters with large red sums she can''t bear to read -- and they''re getting even harder to ignore.

She tries cutting back; she even tries making more money. But none of her efforts succeeds. Becky''s only consolation is to buy herself something ... just a little something.

Finally a story arises that Becky actually cares about, and her front-page article catalyzes a chain of events that will transform her life and the lives of those around her -- forever.

    JUST LOVED IT

What a hilarious book. Didn't want the book to end as it was non-stop laughter all the way through. Becky is quite the character and is so addicted to shopping - nothing stops her.
A very well written book - a MUST read for sure.

When Becky is shopping in Confessions of a Shopaholic, you can relate to how it is that she is feeling in each situation. I think that most people have been there in their lives where there is that one item that they just feel that they must have. I know that I related to her, in some of the situations that she has been in throughout the book. When Becky is trying to get away from her bill collectors and Derek Smeath, you realise that she goes to extreme measures and it kinda makes you feel a bit better about yourself, all while you are laughing at her and the scenerios in the book.

Becky works in the financial industry, but her love is spending money. Especially, on an item that is on sale. As her life is going - she is in debt, not just a little, but a lot. And has this avoidance issue with anyone trying to collect. As life has, it is easier to give advice then to take it. See if she takes her own medicine of financial advice to get her out of debt or will she succumb to bankruptcy

This book had me from the first page, and I couldn't put the book down. This is the first book in Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic series. You can't help but love Becky Bloomwood and all her shopping shenanigans.
