About the Author

William Lingwood is one of Britain''s best-known names in food photography. But he didn''t start that way. As an oil-worker in the Middle East, he learned to cook from the books of Elizabeth David and Jane Grigson, and was inspired by the photography of Robert Fresom and Tessa Treagar. In 1990, he hung up his desert boots and picked up a camera, and his work now appears in magazines, books, and advertising campaigns. He photographed "Juices and Tonics" for Ryland Peters & Small.

Ben Reed has mixed cocktails all over the world, including stints in Hongkong and South Africa. In 1997 he was named Cocktail Bartender of the Year in a competition sponsored by Absolut Vodka. The former bar manager of The Met Bar, Ben left London''s most fashionable cocktail venue to set up and run Woody''s, also in London. His column, Barfly, appears in The Times Magazine every Saturday and he was a consultant for Hollywood Cocktails(Willow Creek Press). "Cool Cocktails" is his first book. Ben has recently completed a TV series for the BBC, Shaker Maker.
