When the home of Alex Cross''s oldest friend, Ellie Cox, is turned into the worst murder scene Alex has ever seen, the destruction leads him to believe that he''s chasing a horrible new breed of killer. As Alex and his girlfriend, Brianna Stone, become entangled in the deadly Nigerian underworld of Washington D.C., what they discover is shocking: a stunningly organized gang of lethal teenagers headed by a powerful, diabolical man--the African warlord known as the Tiger. Just when the detectives think they''re closing in on the elusive murderer, the Tiger disappears into thin air. Tracking him to Africa, Alex knows that he must follow. Alone.

From the author Time magazine has called "the man who can''t miss," CROSS COUNTRY is the most heart-stopping, speed-charged, electrifying Alex Cross thriller yet.

Alex is chasing a serial psychopath murderer, who uses the worst scare tactics imaginable - like killing an entire family in their own home. Cross ends up having to chase the killer known as 'The Tiger' to Africa.

I guess you could say that I'm slowly detaching myself from the series. Everything just seems to be cut and paste the further we go, and I'm wondering how many more 'Cross' novels we have yet to see? The series is getting old.

I have been a long time fan of Patterson. His Cross novels have never seemed to disappoint (with a slight exception for the Wolf novels). Each story involving the great Alex Cross seems to pull the reader into a world of excitement and pulse pounding action.

This one is a real dud...

I could not enjoy this at all. It wasn't because of the violent crimes in this story (lord knows we are all used to it with Patterson by now), but it was just disgusting how Cross was portrayed. I got tired of him being tied up and beaten on.

The entire part of the book where he was in Africa was crap, and I found myself skimming through a lot of it. I grew tired of the situations he continued to get in.

When it came time for him to return to DC, I was glad... however again he is tied up and tortured.

I miss the good old days where Cross is canvassing the streets of DC searching for a killer. Investigations from up in the attic... real family interactions with Nana and the kids, and hammering away at the piano all night trying to figure out some elusive clues.

All of this was missing from Cross Country, and quite frankly I think that Patterson is losing his touch.

The Women's Murder Club is still quite enjoyable, and I'm afraid that if Cross continues on this path... I will not be picking up my annual book.

This is yet another great book about Alex Cross, it is riveting. From start to finish it is hard to put down. It makes you wonder if any of what is in the book is actually true, because it makes sense it could be. I thoroughly loved this book and would rate it higher than the last Alex Cross book. And as you will find out, it leaves you wanting more and it sounds like, if we are patient, we will get more. Can't wait for the next book with Alex Cross. Way to go.

Just like his previous Dr. C. and Double Cross, this should be great. However, that being said, he's about due for another,'YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.'

'BEEN WARNED's' Protagonist had none of the Crosses. Hopefully, he remembers Cross as not some new brand like a Vet, or some religious Church Penguin.

I will be buying this book the first day or so, and adding it to my 'Roses are Red,' and 'The Four Blind Mice.'

Interesting .... Obviously not a James Patterson fan. There are MANY Alex Cross novels (about 14/15 of them), as well as other books by James Patterson who do not feature Alex Cross. Roses are Red and The Four Blind Mice are near the beginning of the series... so I'm pretty sure Patterson has a strong hold on who Alex Cross (& family), is (are) all about and will not make drastic changes to this series by including a religious Church penguin.
