Cross My Heart And Hope To Spy

by CARTER ALLY

Hyperion Books for Children | April 8, 2009 | Hardcover

After the excitement of the fall, all Cammie Morgan wants is peaceful semester at school. But that''s easier said than done when you''re a CIA legacy and go to the premier school in the world...for spies.

Despite Cammie''s best intentions, trouble crops up quickly. Cammie, Bex, and Liz learn that the Gallagher Academy is hosting guests from another spy school -- a school that is known to the world as the Ethan Frome Academy--a secret spy school forboys. After her fiasco with Josh last fall, Cammie isn''t sure she''s ready for daily encounters with boy spies â especially after she meets Zach -- an incorrigibe cutie who everyone thinks is just perfect.

Cammie is right to be worried about their new guests. Soon after the boys'' arrival, she''s blamed for a series of security breaches that leave the school''s top-secret status at risk. And the perfectly crushable Zach is her prime suspect.

The Gallagher Girls will need to use all their skills to investigate the Frome Boys. Even though they''re confident about their guy-spying (as ifthey haven''t done it before!), the playing field is level this time, and the stakes for Cammie''s heartâand her beloved schoolâ are higher than ever.

Throughout the book, Cammie is totally mixed up about 2 things. Josh and Zach. Okay, maybe that's not accurate since she's mixed up about other things, like Blackthorne in general, but these are the main two. I guess for some part she doesn't know which of them to choose, but I think it's relatively obvious who's the best! :) *cough cough Zach* (please comment if you happen to disagree) But really, I guess this is about how sometimes it's okay to risk everything on something that might not be the safest thing. In short, take a chance on a bad boy. (No I'm actually kidding) This applies in general. It's like the stock market. Sometimes it's best to invest in the companies that seem worse than the rest (ex. Google when it was still young). All I can say is that if you liked the first book, read this one! If you haven't read any of the books in this series, well then you sure as heck better start cracking open the books because you HAVE to read the books!

P.S. Strangers and compliments work just as well as strangers and candy.

This was the second novel in the series ("I'd tell you I love you, but then I would have to kill you" was the first). Cammie, who attends a spy school, is starting to get over her broken relationship with Josh and she has promised not to break anymore school rules. Then Cammie gets suspicious of her mother because she's hiding something. Cammie, along with her friends, try to find out what Cammie's mom and Mr Soloman are hiding. They come across the name Blackthorn... and they reach a dead end.. until one day 15 boys come to the academy... from Blackthorn, which is also a spy school for boys. Cammie meets Zach, who seems to know every move that Cammie is planning. Then during the school dance (which also doubles as a mission), someone breached security, and Cammie starts to wonder who the boys really are. With the help of her friends, Cammie must find out who the traitor or traitors are before the secrets of her school are exposed for all the wrong reasons. This book was a fun read, but I found a lot of questions were unanswered at the end of the book.... and I dont think they will be answered in the next book. You'll find yourself cheering Cammie and her friends on.

The sequel to I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You is absolutely amzing, as good as the first maybe even better! I was so happy to rediscover the atmosphere of this school and the character that are so sympathetic. The plot is very nice maybe a little predictable but not so much and it's soo comic, the way Cammie see thing is so teen-ish/spy-ish wich is the point and I totaly enjoyed it. The only flaw of this book was that it is way too short!!!
