I've read all three of the Mercy series by Andrews, and I know I
can count on her to deliver a strong, enjoyable thriller with the
psychic twist that makes me keep coming back.
Mercy isn't sure what she is: she can 'press' people, an ability to
tell them what to do that forces them into action. It's not as good
a deal as it sounds, in her childhood, she told someone to "take a
flying leap" and they jumped in front of a car. Coupled with her
temper, this ability gives her more than enough trouble.
But now she has friends, and sometimes friends need help, and this
is where Mercy is treading unfamiliar ground. In this third book,
she ends up walking into the world of gangs, and there's a lot of
character development and more of her mystery unfurls.
Enjoyable, I do suggest you start at the beginning of the series
with "Beg for Mercy," but they're solid easy-read thrillers that
fans of the paranormal will enjoy.
