"A tingle arced across my scalp. The floor tipped up at me and my body spiraled away. Then I was on the ceiling looking down, waiting to see what would happen next." Callie cuts herself. Never too deep, never enough to die. But enough to feel the pain. Enough to feel the scream inside. Now she''s at Sea Pines, a "residential treatment facility" filled with girls struggling with problems of their own. Callie doesn''t want to have anything to do with them. She doesn''t want to have anything to do with anyone. She won''t even speak. But Callie can only stay silent for so long...

    Cutters...

At only 150 pages this was quite a short and quick read. Callie is a cutter, cutting her skin removes the emotional pain she feels and replaces it with physical pain, but she never cuts herself deep enough to die. People who cut most often do it as a cry for help, they don't really want to die, they want help but are afraid to ask for it so they cut instead.

Callie is in a residential treatment facility called 'Sea Pines' but doesn't want to participate in any of the group discussions, won't talk about her own situation and what prompts her to cut but she can only stay silent for so long before everything comes rushing out.

This book is more geared to a youth audience but is good for parents who can learn a lot about various teenage problems like drug abuse, alcohol dependency, cutting and severe emotional trauma. Overall, a fairly informative book.

Wasn't crazy about this book. The first few pages is about a girl who is cutting herself. So you can imagine what the rest of the book is like. There was no actual plot and it is kind of stupid.
Sorry, but I do not recommend this book if you are under 14 because it can be a bit gruesome. I found myself feeling sick with the details.

I read this book, about a week ago. I thought it was pretty good. Too read a type of book like this, you have to be open minded. Honestly, teens do have trouble these days, such as, boyfriends, drama with friends and you can get caught up in it all and forget who you are. It wasent terrible, and it wasent amazing. But i encoarge Patricia McCormick to continue writing.

    Cut...

I heard about Cut from those order forms they give out to the schools, and the description didn't say much about the book but it was cheap so i thought, why not see if it's worth the 2.99? To be honest im a little disapponted in the book, it has a good meaning, that if you cut you may want to seek help, but it felt like cotton candy you just kept pulling off piece after piece hoping for something solid until you come to the end and realize it was never solid. The Characters in the book were funny but no helpful and the narration was diffrent in a good way but basicly the book didn't cover much

This book was alright. It was about a girl who had a sort of illness, and she couldn't help herself but cut to relieve some pain and hurt she had been having. Overall it's not that great, and even though the author did some research I'm not sure if she researched about what cutting really is about. I wouldn't recommend this, if you're trying to get a feel of what it is to cut yourself.

I couldn't put this book down. I love the way she wrote the book. I find her feelings and thoughts are what people actually feel and think. I do on the other hand give a strong WARNING: A HUGE TRIGGER . I believe that more fiction books should be written about cutting and more books should be written from a teenager's point of view while in a treatment centre.

this was nothing but a childish, imature representation of what it should really be. A good waste of 10 bucks.

this book is utterly amazing and shows young adults that other teens do things like that too, that people see teens have problems, and that its ohkay to seek help if you have trouble in life

I bought this book to read it because I had the same issue when I was a younger teen. I thought this book would be one that I could relate to. See that what I felt then was normal, what I did wasn't as bad as people made it out to be. This book wasn't even CLOSE to grasping what cutting is like. It was too childish, too short.. It wasn't well written at all.
