Cut

At only 150 pages this was quite a short and quick read. Callie is a cutter, cutting her skin removes the emotional pain she feels and replaces it with physical pain, but she never cuts herself deep enough to die. People who cut most often do it as a cry for help, they don't really want to die, they want help but are afraid to ask for it so they cut instead.

Callie is in a residential treatment facility called 'Sea Pines' but doesn't want to participate in any of the group discussions, won't talk about her own situation and what prompts her to cut but she can only stay silent for so long before everything comes rushing out.

This book is more geared to a youth audience but is good for parents who can learn a lot about various teenage problems like drug abuse, alcohol dependency, cutting and severe emotional trauma. Overall, a fairly informative book.

Wasn't crazy about this book. The first few pages is about a girl who is cutting herself. So you can imagine what the rest of the book is like. There was no actual plot and it is kind of stupid.
Sorry, but I do not recommend this book if you are under 14 because it can be a bit gruesome. I found myself feeling sick with the details.

I read this book, about a week ago. I thought it was pretty good. Too read a type of book like this, you have to be open minded. Honestly, teens do have trouble these days, such as, boyfriends, drama with friends and you can get caught up in it all and forget who you are. It wasent terrible, and it wasent amazing. But i encoarge Patricia McCormick to continue writing.
