    Rebuilding from the wreckage

    DLOTS

This book takes place a few months after the events in Man with the Golden Torc with Eddie having to rebuild the family after the destruction that had ensued previously. As the world (or those that know about the family anyway) looks on to see what will become with the family in their possibly weakend state, a new threat emerges. The Loathly Ones are taking over the world one person at a time in a parasitic possession like manner as they prepare to release beings from a higher plane of existence into the world.

This books starts off fast and then picks up the pace. Green manages to bring characters from his other worlds into this series and they fit in perfectly. I would say this books is a step up from the first of the Secret Histories though that may be partailly due to the fact that many of the characters are more familiar this time around.

From the Critics

"A surprisingly moving tale of self-sacrifice and hope in the midst of chaos and loss."
-Monsters and Critics

"Green delivers on the high-stakes action/adventure...Fans of fast-paced heroics, featuring a snarky knight armored in silver and sarcasm, need look no further; Eddie Drood is your guy."
-SF Revu

"Green loves the widescreen splash of cinematic battles against zombie hordes, and genuine traces of tragedy and nobility underlie the nonstop punning banter and pop culture references, lending surprising nuance to this merry metaphysical romp."
-Publishers Weekly
