St. Martin's Press | November 28, 2006 | Mass Market Paperbound

Susan Michaels was the hottest reporter on the Beltway Beat until she walked into a setup that ruined her reputation. Now she''s working for a small Seattle paper, penning stories about killer moths and alien babies, convinced that her life couldn''t get any worse.

That was before an idea for a breaking news piece brought her to a local animal shelter where she ends up listening to her source rant about vampires and gets coerced into adopting a cat despite her allergies. But when her new pet suddenly reveals himself to be a gorgeous--and lethal--shapeshifter, Susan realizes that there''s far more at stake than a career-saving by-line.

Born into a world of predators, Were-Hunter Ravyn Kontis was betrayed by those he loved best. Soulless, pitiless, he has spent three hundred years battling the Daimons who seek to subjugate humankind. Against all odds, Susan evokes in Ravyn feelings of tenderness. Desire. Love. And with the ultimate battle about to begin, this one very human woman holds the power to shatter both their worlds...

considering there are sooooo many books in this series I would think there would be one that I'm not a fan of but these are always keeping my attention and I'm wanting to find out what happens. I really enjoyed this book I thought Rayvin ( spelled wrong I'm sure ) was great and so was Susan. I also have to say I think it's really funny that Susan is allergic to Rayvin it's adds that humor aspect. The one thing that got on my nerves about this book was Nick, I mean he has a right to be angry and everything but he is going waaaaaaay to far. Check this out. :0)

I like Sherrilyn Kenyon's books, but this one does not seem to be my favorite of hers. I did enjoy it, but it seemed quite lacking in something. I think we needed a bit more of the general storyline, and while the main characters had some fairly good chemistry between them, I dunno. The whole pacing seemed to be off. I normally devour her books in a few days but this one took about a week to get through.

While not her best or my favorite, I still recomend it if only to keep continous flow of the series.

Ravyn is a were and a dark-hunter. His family have disowned him, and Ravyn loves them but can't live with the past anymore than his family can. After all it was his own brother that killed him for the actions of Ravyn's mate. Hundreds of years later the hurt is still as fresh and deep as that horrendous day. Susan has her own hurtful past of betrayal. Susan was a good reporter that was set up. Just about everyone she knew turned his or her back on her. When the last two people that she considered family ends up dead, Susan will do whatever it takes to bring the killers to justice.

When the world that Susan thinks she knows is turned upside down by learning the truth about dark-hunters, were-hunters and damons Susan takes it mostly in stride. Susan uses her skills and works with Ravyn to get to the bottom of the new tactics for an old enemy. Susan and Ravyn find solace in one another, knowing that their time together is limited. If they can't defeat this latest threat their time could be shorter that either imagine.

Book ten was a little slower as it has very few of the characters that I know and love in it. It starts with a whole new were line, but I really did like it. I found that the first half of the book is spent just reacting to the situation that you really don't have much love story between the main characters; however, once the two give into the attraction things really get going and I really did like it. This book also gives us quite the ending, and more of a glimpse into Acheron. Can't wait for Acheron's book.

I absolutly love every one of Kenyon's Dark Hunters novels! Loved the title and book cover and synopsis of Dark Side of the Moon. Unfortunatley I felt the story line was not as exciting this time. I felt the plot and character development left me wanting more information. I really tried to love this latest book but found as I was reading it, I felt as if there were gaps in the story. I also was particularly annoyed by the squires sameness of personality, language and attitude that they all hate being squires and all talk the same.Overall, I felt that this particular book of Sherrilyn's was not as compelling or exciting as her others.
