Darkness Unleashed

I loved this book which as the first I've read from the serie. Jagr is a lone wolf of a vampire who is sent by the king to retrieve and bring back Regan to her rightful place within her family. Mayhem ensues of course and they both have to fight enemies and their past demons together. Regan is feisty and agressive while Jagr is all icy control and yummy maleness. This book drew me in and wouldn't let go until the final pages. The sex is hot and tender and the epilogue very satisfying.

This was book five in the Guardians of Eternity series and in my opinion the best in the series. Jagr is a vamp with a violent history. The first part of his vampire life was spent being tortured for past crimes he can't remember. He is sent by his king to rescue a missing female Were named Regan.

Regan is a pureblood Were who has spent her entire life being abused and held hostage only to be taken under the unwanted protection of a scarred vampire...even if he's sexy. All Regan wants in life is to get revenge against the Imp who abused her all those years and doesn't have time for any complications. And in her world that includes reuniting with the sister who has been searching for her or possibly becoming the mate of a powerful sexy vampire.

I actually enjoyed this story and liked how things were set up for the next book which will be Salvatore, the Were King's story. Once again I felt annoyed by the character Levet. I understand needing certain characters for comic relief, but sometimes there's such thing as overkill.

Regan is Darcy's(vampire king's mate) twin sister and is on the trail of an imp who has her as his prisoner for thirty years and she wants revenge. Then this gorgeous vampire drops into her life and all her plans change. He's kissing her whenever he gets the chance and what a kiss! He agrees to help her find this imp so she can get her revenge, but every time they turn around someone is out to kill them. Jagr realizes that Regan is his mate, but when it comes to her feelings, she is terrorfied and wants to bolt out of the room.
