Even though I don't carry any debt, this book still had plenty of
information that was valuable to me.
One area that it made the most positive impact: My partner and I
would still have disagreements on how things should be spent.
Following the budget structure outlined in the book took any of
that arguing away. How to distribute different forms of savings was
also immensely helpful. I now know exactly how to set goals, and
save for them. It helped give me a much more organized approach. I
still read all the chapters concerning paying off debt, for me it
was a big cautionary tale of why it is so important to save for
things and stay in the black. It has a wealth of information on how
to avoid the pitfalls, and plan for stuff that will go wrong. The
writing is also lighthearted and funny. You can hear the authors
voice in your head as you read it! (You'll know what I mean if you
also watch the show "Till Debt")
I loved this book so much I also bought a copy for my brother who
will be living on his own soon. I think it's a fantastic gift for
those just starting out.
