I love this series! Each new book expands the storyline, the
characters and the worlds a little bit more.
The battle the sisters and their lovers/friends are fighting
against Shadow Wing takes a backseat in this installment, as the
matter of the disappearances and murders of Fae women are
investigated by the D'Artigo sisters.
There are also unattended Ghouls running amok and causing trouble
in Seattle, meaning a Necromancer is in residence somewhere.
As always Yasmine Galanorn does a fantastic job of creating a fully
detailed and realistic world for her characters, and the characters
too are multi-faceted with every detail described, from what they
wear and eat, to how they think and interact with other characters.
Even the secondary characters are fully described so you can really
connect with them as the story progresses.
The plot itself has so many aspects that the books are far more
than just a battle between the sisters and the ultimate evil of the
demon Shadow Wing. The various Seelie, Unseelie and Humans all have
agendas and there are "good guys" and "bad guys" in each group, so
you - and the sisters D'Artigo - never really know who to trust.
That keeps the multiple plot lines in story exciting and keeps you
wanting more and flying through the book.
The sisters are evolving with each book - either gaining new
powers, or developing new alliances with various powers or beings -
and that keeps the story fresh and intriguing even though this is
the sixth book of the series. I still can't wait to read the next
installment in this series and have not been disappointed by any of
these books. Galanorn has obviously got a complete and detailed
vision of the world the sisters live in and all the developments of
each of their stories fully fleshed out in her head.
This is a series that never lets you down. If you like paranormal
fiction, this series by Galanorn is a winner. I highly recommend
it.
