A must read for anyone involved in policing in Canada, particualry
members of the RCMP who find themselves continually bogged down and
frustrated in their attempts to do the right thing by an
organization that still skates on a reputation gained over 125
years ago.
Although some of the dots that Palango tries to connect are too
distant to be completely credible, his comments about the inner
workings of a police agency that has lost its way are spot on.
Anyone who has any experience in policing in Canada - either
municipal or federal - will recognize this for what it is, the sad
truth!
I can only hope that politicians in areas that are considering
re-upping the RCMP for contract polciing read this book and heed
the dire warnings and ask the tough questions of those looking to
be the police force of choice.
