In this gripping novel of small-town scandal and sizzling passion, New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts tells the story of a renowned artist who confronts a mystery from her past-and finds that her family secrets have not been laid to rest.

Famed sculptor Clare Kimball has commanded the attention of the New York art world, but troubling memories from childhood have drawn her home to Maryland, to the town where she grew up and where her father died so long ago in circumstances never really explained. Nothing much has changed in Emmitsboro-except Cameron Rafferty, the onetime high-school bad boy turned town sheriff. The only hint of Cam's wild nature is the light in his eyes when he looks at Clare. In Cam's strong arms Clare is seduced into falling in love-and into believing that her small-town world is safe.

But within the dark woods of Emmitsboro, something evil is spreading its poisonous power. Now Clare must pay the price for digging up the secrets of the past . . . and confront an evil that may be unstoppable-because those who practice it believe it is divine.

    Not Evil Enough!
    by Aynsley

This book is about a woman, Clare Kimball, who has very strange 'dreams'. She has made her life revolve around her fathers untimely death, and the dreams that she continually sees. In these reccurring nightmares she sees her father as a beast and then uses that experience to become a artist working in metal, wood, clay, etc. She writes about demonic ceremonies and the people that are involved in this story are not at all out in the open. Most people think that when there is a satanic group in your small close-knit town that you would have known, that that group would be out in the open and everyone would know that they are evil. That isn't what happens in this story. Some of the people are evident from almost the start, and the others are a surprise but I don't want to ruin it for you by telling you what happens. I also believe that the addition of Crazy Annie was an integral part of the story. She is the crazy lady that everyone in town looks after and in the end ends up being part of the clue that Cam needs to solve the puzzle. Cam and Claire end up falling in love and cam would risk anything to save Claire. Read this book to find out what happens in the end, and who is the 'ring leader' behind this pack, because it surprised me, so it will surely surprise you too!

    Not your normal Roberts...

This book is unlike any of the other Nora Roberts books I've ever read. It was nasty and graphic in the Satanism descriptions and sometimes I just didn't want to pick it up again. It was obviously written before smoking got all the bad press, by the end of the book even I wanted a cigarette (and I don't smoke) but it seemed to be one of the main themes going on. I challenge the next reader to count how many smoking references there are in this book - just out of curiousity. It was ok as far as plot goes but not one of her best books.
