Although I believe breastfeeding is one of the most incredible experiences a mother can have, sometimes there are hurdles new mothers feel they should be able to overcome on their own. This book will give readers insight into the complexities of breastfeeding and what to do when things don't go exactly as planned.

This book was great a source of information and answers for common questions and concerns. On the negative side, I found the authors view on breastfeeding to be a little extreme. Dr. Newman's oldest son was nursed until he was was almost four! Dr. Newman also makes breastfeeding seem easy, with no need for supplementing formula at anytime. As a new mom, I did supplement some formula while my milk was coming in and my baby still went back fine. In the middle of the night, when you are exhausted and sore, a little formula is a wonderful thing. Don't let Dr. Newman intimidate you or make you feel like a failure if you need some too!!

This is the ONLY breastfeeding resource that I keep turning to. I opended this book on a DAILY basis in the early weeks with my daughter. It is indispensible! We went out of town recently and I packed this book! I still use this book and will continue to as long as I am nursing my daughter. This book, and Dr. Newman's web site, are the best resources available for any mother considering nursing or currently nursing her little one. It makes a great shower gift!

This book is a godsend, answering all the questions I had as a new breastfeeding mother. It was informative, easy reading. I buy it for all my friends who are expecting babies - it's just that good.

Dr. Newman explains all you need to know about breastfeeding. Things your doctor doesn't know or fails to tell you. There are so many thoughts and rumors surrounding breastfeeding but Dr. Newman has kids and years of experience and is an expert in the field.

Highly recommended to all mothers dedicated to breastfeeding. It answers the most commonly asked questions that new mothers have about breastfeeding and addresses the myths related to breastfeeding. I continually refer to this book and suggest that readers also make use of Dr Newman's excellent website and DVD on breastfeeding.

This is an exceptional book. It helped me through challenges with breastfeeding and made me feel really good about the decision that I was making to BF. It is very informative, detailed and has lots of pictures to demonstrate. I buy it as a shower gift for every new mom that I know.

I have owned this book for several years now and its been my breastfeeding *bible* of sorts! Dr.Newman is an excellent resource and very helpful, if you have a baby and breastfeed you really need to buy this book, he covers every imaginable scenario in it.

We are very lucky to have a breastfeeding expert like Dr. Newman in Canada and even luckier that he took the time to put down so much of his knowledge in book form so that women across the country can benefit from it. I own both editions of his book and they are both well thumbed.
