Dragons Of Autumn Twilight: Dragonlance Chronicles, Volume I

by Margaret Weis, Tracy Hickman

Wizards Of The Coast Publishing | February 1, 2000 | Mass Market Paperbound

Lifelong friends, they went their separate ways. Now they are together again, though each holds secrets from the others in his heart. They speak of a world shadowed with rumors of war. They speak of tales of strange monsters, creatures of myth, creatures of legend. They do not speak of their secrets. Not then. Not until a chance encounter with a beautiful, sorrowful woman, who bears a magical crystal staff, draws the companions deeper into the shadows, forever changing their lives and shaping the fate of the world. No one expected them to be heroes. Least of all, them.

This was an amazing read for a fantasy lover. its got everything we look for in a book, dragons, magic, band of heroes, dying cities, trouble, new twists, evil bad guys, elves, danger, humor and countless other fantastic qualities. This book was really good i found it sucked me in right away although i did find some similarities between this book and the lord of the rings series but at the same time it wasn't. the similarities were minor ones like the group of heroes that you follow was kinda like those in LOTR and the plot was somewhat similar but at the same time this was a new book and the plot was exceptional. needless to say that as soon as i was done this book i rushed out to get the next few in the series. one of the best parts about this series are there are soooo many books in the series and i personally can not wait to devour all of them!!!!!! if i could i would give it 4.5 it was an exceptional read and it is the type of fantasy book that i have been missing seeing as most "fantasy" now a days is a weaker version of mythical creatures but i digress this is an amazing read if you love fantasy PICK THIS BOOK UP!!!!!!

I'm usually not a fan of fantasy, but this book wasn't all out-of-this-world, magical, hard to imagine kind of stuff. There were personalities that remind you of people you know personally, there was humour, and twists all throughout. A real page-turner.

This book was absolutely wonderful. I found everything about it soooo good and real. The authors accomplished something that many people can not. They gave life to their characters. You could almost see Tanis Half-Elven and Flint Fireforge fighting side by side and explaining such an awesome book is actually difficult. As a reader, this is something I always search for in books.

This is an absolute MUST READ! Way to go Weis and Hickman.

This is the series that turned me into a reader! That's saying a lot being that I'm now a store manager for Indigo!

This is a simply amazing series that opens the door to one of the most interesting worlds that has ever been written about. Weis and Hickman prove they are truly brilliant writers and world crafters.

This is probably the best fantasty series (besides another Hickman/Weis series, The Death Gate Cycle). READ THIS, you won't regret it!

This is an awesome start to an awesome set. The characters are lovable in their own different ways. I recommend this book to anyone that loves a good fantasy book, like myself. If you like this book try the others, for example The SoulForge and Brothers in Arms.

This is one of the best books I have read by far. I has an excellant plot and just the right balance of action and explanation. When I read it I could not put it down, this is a must read.

This book was the most awesome book I've read in a long time. I loved every second of it - the characters, plot, and settings were all amazing. Each character's history was defined and elaborate; Tanis was my favorite. I am only thirteen years old, but I am a poet and an avid writer, and I wish that I could write as wel as this. If you loved The Lord of the Rings or if you love fantasy in general, read Dragons of Autumn Twilight, and the rest of the Chronicles series. Other awesome books include the rest of the Dragonlance and the Seventh Gate series. Read them! I LOVE THEM>

This book is the first part of a awesome trilogy within the Dragonlance series. It provides a base for the later books. One of Margartet Weis and Tracy Hickman's best work.

My brother was the first to read them. It was because of him I became captivated by fiction. Autumn Twilight filled me with so many different emotions that nothing I read now compares to it. I would crave for like food. I needed to read on & on. I would stay up late on school nights just to finish reading the exciting chapters. Its a thrill I hope to experience again & again.

If you are interested in becoing a dragonlance fan then this is definitly the book you should start with. It introduces the Heroes of the Lance, a vital part in dragonlance history. These heroes are the biggest and most exciting part of the entire series of dragonlance and it introduces the most popular character: Raistlin Majere. This book is the first in the trilogy called The Chronicles. It then carries over to the next trilogy called The Legends trilogy. This is a must read for all fantasy lovers.
