This is my introduction into DnD, so I don't have anything to
compare this against. It seems a little overpriced for what you
get. For some reason I had the impression there would be some
miniatures in the box, and a good selection of dice.
Everything is cardboard punch-outs. Rather than miniatures, a few
of the punch-outs are printed to represent player characters. These
are high-quality punch-outs. Well printed die-cut "coin/tokens" on
heavy two-sided card stock, but still a bit of a let-down.
The dungeon tiles are the same card stock. There is a bag of five
or six dice (one of each main type). Nothing special.
Given the included booklets make a point of saying that a good
quantity of dice are recommended, and that players often get
"attached" to their particular dice, it seems like an opportunity
to get new players into the game was lost to save the publishers a
few pennies.
It is what it says it is, but don't expect to be "Wowed".
